In my case, it was using the “&”. They don’t like that character in the title for some reason.

Just spent 20 minutes looking for illegal characters only to eventually figure that Fiverr’s own Numbered List button generates illegal characters (a full stop).

Why on earth do they supply a layout feature that is illegal to use?

I’m already going bald, I don’t need new reasons to pull my hair out.

Reply to @uniqueleads: hahaha. We would live a coherent list of illegal characters. Or at least some sort of highlighting or the offending character. For now we are left to guess which one it is and the (unknown) list seems to constantly change.

I just spent 15 minutes trying to figure out the error on my title. I think it’s a bug in the fiverr system. I ended up with the exact same title I started with when it finally accepted it.

I am not sure if this is the case in Fiverr, but many sites that use databases prevent the use of various characters because the titles are also operands. I have heard that if you allow characters used for programming, a sneaky person might introduce a piece of script (something like DBCC CHECKIDENT(‘Customer’, RESEED, 0) in the title when entering which might reseeed an entire database, and that is something they want to avoid.



Similarly, certain values in Sharepoint Lists and Access Databases also are blocked (like %,& and $ for similar reasons I guess).

It’s because Fiverr has chosen (for some unknown reason) to use the Gig’s title as the filename. Filenames can’t contain characters designated as illegal because they are used by the OS for other purposes.

I just landed here because of the same issue. Removing the “!” (exclamation marks) would finally do the trick, after 5 re-writes all around :=)

Also make sure you don’t close your sentence with any punctuation.
