Hi there,
We all know the great saviour when it comes to designing something with a free tool we have all heard it's name hundreds of times yup I am talking about Canva but there is something you need to know...
Canva is unprofessional.
Why?
Well we all know that Canva is a free tool and millions use it but in recent years we have seen Canva being seen as an "unprofessional design software"
How did it ruin it's reputation?
As we all know Canva is for everyone even beginners which is great but the problem with this is many people make Designs that are crowded and use the famous glow text and think they have made a masterpiece but we all Know they just made an abomination (no offense to anyone) so seeing this again and again has made clients think that whenever you see a certain kind of design on something (for example the glow text) then it is best to ignore it which means if you are a person who uses the glow text too much then that is out of the box just unprofessional especially if you are a designer but some buyers won't know the difference, the difference is mostly noticed by high paying clients who knows what unprofessional and professional really looks like.
Solution
Don't crowd your design
Don't use glow text (please)
Don't use pro designs on Canva which have watermarks
Don't use comic-sans (I don't think they have it but still)
Don't make a logo using Canva
I can assure you that there are hundreds of businesses out there who has the same Canva logo template as their logo 😭
Don't make your text too small make it readable
Don't get tired while reading my post don't skip anything I can tell if you skipped 😂
And uh don't use the worst color combination you can find, for great color palettes visit http://www.coolors.co
So to avoid I recommend you use figma but I know it might not be as beginner friendly as Canva but when you get the hang of it it is going to be a daily tool for you especially if you find the right plugins.
Hope this helps but before I end this post
Here is an example of a design that looks professional and one that is not.
And yes I made the bad design extra bad to prove my point what did you expect? 🙍
