Why I'm lowering my prices once again

Very true.

This tendency is what has prevented writing from maturing into a viable business model unlike others like acting, animation, etc. Of course, there are people like JK Rowling but that’s a different set of people. Writing as an organized, self-sustained, profitable sector setting their own prices, making their own products (like movie makers, animators, software developers) has been kept in a nascent stage be relegating it to either freelancing or at the most content consulting or branding, if you want to get fancy about it. I’d hoped this would change for the better now that people have the ability to get their own books published online, but it hasn’t taken off that well, compared to other trades.

As we see here, people don’t understand the value of great content. When you can barely put together a correct sentence yourself, and don’t know the difference, it’s not possible to understand why well written content is so important. Then people wonder why they can’t sell anything.
