What if I send my first draft of work via message and client takes a long time to give feedback until the delivery time is over and order becomes marked as late?

Question

Let's say I have 3 days to produce a work for client, on day 2 I send over my first draft via message and await the client's feedback. However if the client takes forever to reply, or sometimes they need a few days to provide the feedback. After the feedback, it also takes some time to and fro for the few rounds of revision. And all these happens while the timer for delivery due ends and become marked as late or very late.

I had thought of not submitting through the delivery button for the rounds of revision because the final delivery will include the full package of other materials which takes time to finalize after the client has confirmed the final version.

What should I do with the delivery time since it is not fair that the lateness is due to me waiting for their feedbacks? Does an accepted extension of delivery date affect my on time score? or Should I have delivered my drafts everytime through the delivery channel and have client request for revision through it?

In the first place, why are you sending updates at the last moment? Sending the first update on Day 2 (with a 3 day delivery time) doesn't make any sense. Things should be like this:

  1. Either keep the delivery time at 6-7 days, so that you have enough time and grace period if you encounter any delay in communication.

  2. Or start delivering draft updates from day one (if you have such a short deadline of 3 days).

  3. Or just finish the whole project and deliver the order files directly after the completion (definitely not recommended but at least your order won't be marked late, so consider this as a last resort).

Okay, I'm having the same problem, too.

* My current original delivery time is set to 2 days. I finished within 20 hrs. Delivered.
* A revision. Timer: 20hrs.
* Another revision request. Delivered again. Timer: 7mins
That doesn't make any sense.

If you delivered on time, the revision doesn't matter. What matters is the initial delivery. If your initial delivery was sent before the deadline, the order is was not late.
