A seller states to me that they cannot take on any more gigs on a open gig

ladydeville

Question

I hope this is the right place. This is the 3rd time a seller tells me when I'm asking questions about their gig that you can just go ahead and buy & they tell me i cannot take any more gigs all 3 of the sellers are top sellers. If i don't say anything i could go ahead and buy the gigs.

Don't sellers, especially top sellers have the ability to pause the gigs as they are currently working on the orders?

It frustrates me when I research the gigs look them over and wants to give them a shot but all i want to do first is ask them questions and then they say im not taking more gigs.

i had a seller at one point top seller who was not taking any more gigs and I check back a while later they never pause the gig they continued to take more orders.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced this.

so what am I to just go and jump in and buy the order with out asking questions? I had to do that with a seller before completely ignoring me until I went to purchase a gig.

As always please let me know your experience It always nice to know you are not alone.

Hello

There are a few things that could be happening here. One of them is that those sellers are indeed very busy and your project might be too large for them.

There can also be the fact that sellers find your project too complex. Or maybe the budget is under what they expect. Then again, they could say that.

Some sellers also don't like to be micromanaged, and the fact that you are asking questions might put them off. I don't know the exact interaction so I am only speculating here.

No you are right to speculate you don't know what questions I asked I agree that the gig could be complex i wish they would say that instead of not taking on any gigs. it would help.

here's the thing almost on every fiverr gigs there's always a saying that if you have a question ask before buying the gig and i was doing simply that.

Thank you for your input.

To be honest I always encourage customers to ask first, sometimes there will be people that order randomly and force the seller to work on something they might not be good at. I can tell you for a fact I dealt with such a problem myself.

I currently have 7 "likely" orders sitting in my inbox that I requested the buyers to gather information before placing the order. I debated whether to pause the gig or not, but am glad I didn't because the buyers are taking longer to get back with me. In the meantime, I've turned down some orders (but also accepted some that I think I can work around these 7 orders). I did have my Out-Of-Office on for a bit, but took it down because these buyers took longer than 3 days to place their orders and I was able to take on quick orders while I was waiting. I had some buyers that I canceled their custom offers and reissued them several times because the buyers were ready one minute and the next minute they weren't. I don't mind them being wishy washy, but it does make it difficult to decide if I should take on a new order or not.

So the fact that your seller is taking on more orders can simply mean that they were holding a spot for a likely customer that approached them before you did, and they decided that they couldn't add you to the schedule.

I do have the Request to Order feature on, so no one is able to place an order without contacting me first. I do think it's better for sellers to have that Out-of-Office up to let buyers know their availability, because I'm a buyer myself, and I put a lot of research into selecting a seller. All that effort goes down the drain and it's back to the drawing board if a seller immediately tells me they're unavailable for my project.

As a seller, I find it a tricky balance. If every buyer placed their order right away, it would make things easier. However, I don't want to start a project without all the details first, so I request that my buyers take the time to gather their information upfront. That way I can just go with it when they place the order.
