Amid the hustle and bustle of our every day, hardworking lives, here is a gentle reminder to take a sweet, deep breath.

The 4.7.8 approach, known for it's soothing and calming qualities on the central nervous system

Here's how:

• take a deep breath in to the count of 4 seconds (note that your stomach should rise here)

• hold what abundant breath you have gathered here to the count of 7 seconds.

• release your breath in a smooth and extended exhale to the count of 8 seconds. 

• repeat the practice for several breaths or as many (or as few) cycles are you feel necessary and comfortable

When you return to your ordinary breath you might notice a new found calmness and clarity, helping you to move along on your next task or venture

It is okay if you feel unable to reach a count of 4.7.8 as suggested: find what feels good and right for you. This is a practice that can be re-visited time and time again
