I use adobe illustrator, and that has worked perfectly for me, and if that’s a bit out of budget, there are some alternatives out there (Affinity Designer, for example) that work similarly. Hope that helped!

I use QuarkXpress 8.

I’m also on a Mac.

Inkscape. Open source a bit clunky at times abut ultimately as good as you are.

The software doesn’t matter (unless we are talking a bot or similar online mix-n-match travesty). It is understanding the needs of the business (not always what the client says) and being able to deliver that.
