How do you protect yourself?

As a seller how do you protect yourself from things such as unknown links or files being sent to you? For example, I recently had someone enquire about an order and included a .txt file that had the link and login details. I decided it looked fishy so made sure I opened the file in a .txt editor so no code could be executed and then opened the link in TOR as I also have a script blocker built in just incase the page had any malicious code in it.

Luckily it all turned out clean and I have a new order. Am I being too OCD or should I be doing more to protect myself from malicious users?
