Jack O’ Lanterns used specifically to celebrate Halloween were in the US (18th century), however there is debate that they might’ve actually come from E England and Ireland in the 19th century.



There is written proof they were used in the US in the 18th century, but no written proof that they were in Ireland, officially, in the 19th. However, in the 18th century turnips were carved in England, so…close enough, I guess?



Everyone’s saying Ireland, but I’m trusting my books and wikipedia on this one XD
