Indeed until too many of us get stuck at 4.0😎 and then focus will shift to 3.0 to 3.9.

Random research shows that 3.0 to 3.9 star reviews are far more trustworthy than 4 and above.

But still lots of people will lose their levels because of this, and buyers might also feel pressure with the ratings they give if they know the high requirements of the level system.

I'm not sure buyers have any idea how levels really affect sellers. I've already received a 4.3 after being marked down on value for money. Next to someone offering 500 words and full broadcast rights for a tenner, I'm clearly not value for money. As a Pro, I'm still cheap. This will only encourage the usual race to the bottom pricing and fawning to buyers.

I used to get really angry about decisions like this one, but now I basically feel apathy.

I feel the same. I've allowed the ratings, evaluations and hits to visibility for not being perfect to rock my boat far too many times. And now the goalposts are moving again. I'm not cutting my prices again; I know I'm value for money whether buyers agree or not. I spend a bit of money promoting my gigs, but I see that as a legitimate part of being a business. But I'm done with paying for Seller Plus and attempting to micromanage everything, including trying to figure out if a buyer is likely to leave a bad review. No thanks. If Fiverr is one's sole source of income, then the ratings, evaluations and visibility in searches become incredibly stressful. I didn't choose to be a freelancer because I wanted to be constantly stressed about algorithms and approval ratings.

  4. Heads up for anyone sellers providing audio. A client has reached out to me today saying he can play back the voiceover file I sent him, but he can't download it from Fiverr. I've tried from my end and download isn't working. I get a message that the file isn't on the site. I don't know if this is affecting other deliveries. I already deleted this file, so it means doing the whole job again and using We Transfer. I've reported the bug.

  5. Check in: The time I saved getting hardly any work on the platform compared with previous years was spent prising myself from the cold, dead fingers of Fiverr-induced anxiety. I have at least one other egg in my basket, so I don't have a panic attack every time I fail to be perfectly above and beyond exceptional on Fiverr. I received a bad review and slept peacefully that very same night. I had the audacity to make clients stick to our agreements or otherwise pay the extra. I even said no a couple of times. And with the revelation of the new review system, I find myself in a state of prolonged calm. It's been a good year.

First they ask for a superb quality work of $500-600 in $100 and then abuse the seller by asking unnecessary and high demanding revisions

Don't work with anyone asking for massive discounts straight out of the stalls. If they don't respect your rates, they don't respect your time or you.

  7. I have gained one amazing client through briefs, the VO eork is ongoing for a main character in a video game, so that was a huge win for me. But it's just the one. The vast majority are below budget, regardless of my limit, or their scams, or people asking for work, or people looking for a male voice-over for free to voice their dog for youtube videos.

Or is it still, "Hallo dear, give me job?"

The last three briefs I've received have been very obvious Telegram scams. I've had some success with briefs, but it seems it's the same swamp material delivered in a different way.

I am sure they can't track competitors which will ask a friend or even travel somewhere just to place an order and leave a very very bad review.

It was mentioned on the call today (I'm not quoting exactly) that sellers who think they can find a way around the system to burn other sellers should think again. Fiverr now has more ways of finding people out. They didn't mention how, and I didn't ask. It's enough for me to know that Fiverr seems determined to crack down on dishonest sellers, create more transparency on both sides and improve the reputation of the platform.
Just my opinion, but I think it's slightly paranoid to suggest a seller would travel or employ someone else to sabotage another person's success. Even if there are such people willing to do it, is it worth worrying about so heavily?

It's not my place to announce these features, but I will say that my comment to the product- and retainment managers was, "That's awesome!"

I also had a call with some team members about the change this morning, and I'm happy to hear about the features that are coming in to help us with this. I'm not worried about this change at all. And after hearing more about it, it does make sense that sellers won't be able to review a buyer. If, as a seller, you mostly have great reviews, how you respond to a negative one goes long way in displaying your professionalism to other potential buyers, and they won't be put off. Responding agressively and arrogantly will do you more harm.
And the rules around having reviews removed is will not change. Unless a review breaks the Terms of Service or is abusive, they will not be removed.

  11. I'm allowing myself to take more holidays, but I haven't made any solid plans for this year. There will likely be a couple of hiking trips in Switzerland and Germany during August and September. A beach holiday is also nice sometimes, but I find there's nothing like a few days hiking to get back to oneself and recharge.

  12. It would be fantastic to be able to send offers in other currencies as well, instead of having to send it in dollars and then see what the outcome is. I get many complaints about this. And these complaints are the kind of thing that can end up going into the private review because that's pitched as feedback for the overall experience, yet the functionality of the platform has nothing to do with sellers.
