We don’t know when it will be available for everyone who meets the requirements. Could be a month, could be a year, could be never.

Pretty sure it won’t be for everyone. The main idea is to not have an overload of gigs without reviews. They are only offering the opportunity for vetted people, to keep things under control

  2. New sellers and Level 1 sellers cannot use the program, because that is how Fiverr has chosen to maintain the program. It would appear that sellers have to build a reputation for themselves, earn sales and reviews, and be someone buyers want to hire, before they are allowed to promote their successful gigs via ads in the program.

Truth be told, the ads program would be completely overwhelmed if New Sellers and Level 1 sellers – most of whom don’t have any experience as freelancers – started spamming their gigs in ads. The program is a way to supplement a seller’s marketing efforts, not a substitute for sellers who have done nothing to reach out to their target markets.

It looks like Fiverr views the program as a bonus for sellers who have worked hard to become higher level sellers. If you want to be considered in the program, then you are going to have to achieve the requirements Fiverr has established.

I don’t see how it’s a bonus when my views have plummeted and got lower every day since the program has launched. It seems to become a necessity. I am curious if other level 2 and top rated sellers have less views and no messages from new customers. It’s definitely happening to me.

  3. Well I am at the bottom, my entire account, all my gigs are at the bottom. And I qualify for the program. Not saying it’s intentional or anything, but it’s certain some popular gigs are at the bottom and they are obviously encouraged to pay for exposure since they are not getting new messages or customers.

My most popular gig is currently not on the first page of search results, but it does not qualify for this program, since it isn’t within a category currently open to ads. I do have a logo design gig that qualifies, but I do not yet have access to the ads platform. Where a seller’s gigs are, right now, clearly does not relate to the potential for a seller within the ads program. As you know, gigs rotate around regularly. I do not believe Fiverr is intentionally doing anything to force sellers to participate in the program.

Maybe not. However, since the day the program was released I didn’t receive any message from any new customer. Usually I get at least 2-3 per day. So… that’s strange since this is the third day. For now I have repeat orders to go through, so I am not worrying, but I am seeing a few bad changes at least in my situation.

  4. Fiverr New Features:

    1. Instant Withdrawal
    2. Promoted Gigs

    Are they available to me?

    NO!

    Am I eligible for them?

    YES!

Then why they are not available to me?

    I DON’T KNOW!

    Awesome. 😶

For me they are both useless since I won’t use them, but I understand how some would need instant withdrawal. I wouldn’t say promoted gigs were needed, but I am sure some people would use them.

  5. are not getting new messages or customers.

I am a TRS and for the past two weeks new buyer inquiries have dropped to almost zero. Thank goodness for my regular buyers otherwise I would be in trouble. Yes it’s forced me to look at ads. I am seeing some sellers that have 2-3 spots on the first page. How can this be right? Some sellers have vanished from the first 3-4 pages.

I also checked my email and junk files there are no invites as yet.

New business for me has almost dropped completely.

I noticed all gigs from my account are removed, not just my main one. You can find it only if you search for local customers, from my country. They rotated me once to the first page the past month for 3-4 days. Then I went back and inquiries, views, clicks, all dropped.

  6. I am starting to think that all the search feature all the users were reporting that their gigs are pushed back, i think it was on purpose by fiverr because they thought the one that are pushed back will pay to bring it back at top, so all this problem was because of them

I don’t believe this is true, because sellers from categories that aren’t even part of the ads program have been complaining about gig placement. Fiverr is/was not intentionally sending seller gigs to the back of the search results, just to force them to pay more to be seen. Why would Fiverr, as you claim, send sellers to the back of the search results who don’t even qualify for the promoted gigs program?

  7. Hey, What level do you have to be to qualify for promoted gigs? And can I pay through my Fiverr balance?

    Level 2 or top rated.

But it’s not available for everyone. I am level 2, have high ratings and I don’t see the option. But as I said above, it’s very easy for others to abuse it, and for my price points it’s just not worth it

  8. Apparently this feature isn’t available for me. My #1 gig is at 4.6, but I have other gigs at 4.9 and 4.8. I can’t see how to sign up for this.

Also, I wonder if it’s worth it. We are paying for clicks, but what if no one orders? A click to me is not a result, an order is a result. I prefer Fiverr when they make money after I make money. Charge me a 25% commission instead of 20% in exchange for clicks. I can always increase my prices.

I don’t have this feature either, and all my gigs are over 4.8 stars, level 2… etc… And even if I had it, I wouldn’t use it.

I believe this feature can be abused quite a lot. Competitors can easily click on your gig and make you pay for basically nothing. Also, it mostly caters to the more expensive gigs I believe, I see no benefit in promoting a $5 gig, I might spend close to that on ads to get a sale, so basically I will work for free…

Well this only makes sense for people that have a pricey gig. If you just have $5 gigs, then you will spend more than what you’re making…

  10. I never give a 1-star review, however I had to do so today

Had to give one today after dealing with a person that asked for a much faster delivery and a lot of extra work via revisions. I assumed they would do the same, and yes, they lied about me taking a month, saying they tipped me and so on. So yes, there are some buyers that lie or try to cheat the system to get more work. In that case, you need to give such a review.

  11. I agree with @cyaxrex. Why refund in the first place? Also, partial refunds are a bad idea. This opens up the door to a TON of abuse, some buyers will try to get some of the money back, threatening sellers with bad reviews. Also, I am not sure Fiverr would quantify partial cancellations and how would that impact seller levels. It’s just a ton of work for a feature that’s most likely going to be abused by a lot of people. The system is fine the way it is. Refuse cancellations or offer them and deal with the penalty 🙂

  12. I agree. Let’s suppose Fiverr instead handled it this way:

When the buyer places the order: “After you receive the order, you will have an opportunity to review the seller and have an option of tipping if you feel you received exceptional service that warrants it.” This would alert the buyer to factor that tip into the budget. (I spent $500 recently, so it would have been nice to plan to expect to pay another $100.) Then, after the order, a simple two questions: 1.) “How satisfied were you with the service?” 2.) “Would you like to leave a tip for the seller?”

If you want a tip so much, why not increase your price point to include the desired tip?

  13. Fiverr is correct. Your order went late. You cannot extend late orders. You can either modify/complete it, or cancel it and refund the purchase price to the buyer.

Actually you can ask for an extension if the order is late or very late.

  14. If you consider airbnb hosting passive work, what do you consider running a hotel?

Why does it matter if it is passive work or active work anyway?

So you don’t think freelancers should have the right to choose which clients they work with? (Law: Under federal anti-discrimination laws, businesses can refuse service to any person for any reason, unless the business is discriminating against a protected class. At the national level, protected classes include: Race or color. National origin or citizenship status.)

I agree, for high volume sellers - it would make sense that they allow “instant orders” - all they would have to do is have the “instant orders” setting turned on.

Your arguments against the implementation of this function are very thin.

If you consider airbnb hosting passive work, what do you consider running a hotel?

Airbnb is not hotel management, just a way for someone like me or you to make some extra bucks. Fiverr is a marketplace for professionals to share their services online. You have to work here, it’s mostly active income, for Airbnb you don’t need any skill, you don’t have to work on anything, just offer the free space you have for $$.

Not sure why you are comparing with Airbnb. Anyway, it’s my opinion and I for one I am sure Fiverr will never implement this as it would cause a lot of friction and wasted time on their side. The return will be minimal for them, but adding this would drive buyers away. They need to bring more buyers here, not to drive them away. An automated process would help but as @humanissocial said, the best thing they can do is to not have us sellers deal with penalties. Then again, if sellers see they don’t get penalized if they choose this option, that would make them abuse the system and say all orders they want to cancel are placed by mistake. I believe that’s why they removed the lack of penalty from mutual cancellations in the first place, to prevent abuse.

So, I would say don’t expect any decline/accept feature anytime soon because it requires a lot of work and planning with pretty much negative returns. Again, my opinion, but I am 100% sure Fiverr will never do this as it doesn’t make any business sense.

  15. Sorry if it wasn’t clear enough in the OP, the seller has the choice to either:

    1. Allow buyers to buy instantly, or
    2. Not allow buyers to buy instantly

Still, a lot of buyers don’t even care, they place orders randomly and that will lead to buyer friction and people leaving the platform. So I am 100% sure Fiverr would not allow that.

  16. Prior Top Rated Seller here… I couldn’t agree more with this recommendation. I have the same issue, 4 cancellations in the past month because people do not read my message in the description of each gig “IMPORTANT: PLEASE MESSAGE ME BEFORE ORDERING” causing my “completed jobs %” to drop and lower me down to a level 2 seller - despite the fact that I have maintained all other criteria for over a year.

Airbnb have a function that allows the seller to choose to either allow “Instant booking” or not. This is not rocket science - this function is basic. It makes sense to give the airbnb hosts the control over who stays in their property. I believe it also makes sense to give Fiverr sellers control over who they work with.

For the love of freelancers - please Fiverr, I’m begging, give the sellers a little bit more control! You can still be the future of work 🙏

While this sounds like a good idea, it would be a nightmare if you are the type of seller with a lot of orders. You will barely get any orders because people won’t wait for you to accept or decline an order if you’re sleeping for example.

Most clients on Fiverr just want to share the order and then do their thing knowing you will get the job done. If they initiate the order and you decline that in 12 hours when you are back online, it would take days for a buyer to place an order and get the job done.

  17. Unrelated, but offering unlimited revisions is a bit on the dangerous side. The buyer could force you to rewrite the article 10+ times for the same price

My gig has 7000+ reviews and I had maybe 2-3 people that abused revisions. Revisions mean revising the article, not rewriting. If we were talking about unlimited rewrites then sure… I also have a revision policy stating what I revise, so again, that’s not really my issue. The issue is people using multiples wrongfully.

  18. Thanks for letting me know. It’s a major, bizarre flaw! Do you get this a lot?

Yes, almost every week. I talked about this a few times on the forum. Obviously not as severe as the one I mentioned above, but people order 2x or 3x multiples quite often. Even regulars. It’s easier for them and cut costs, but at the end of the day if the orders are late, they blame me. So yes, blocking multiple packages can help a lot.
