Your account security is our top priority because we know your account is more than just a login; it’s your business and your reputation. We are aware of the ongoing spam issue on the platform and are pleased to announce that we have some significant efforts in the works that will help to ensure your account remains secure.

To further support our efforts, we encourage you to stay vigilant against any spam attempts as outlined in our recent post here. In addition, we’d also like to share  a few more safety best practices:
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA):

• Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) via your Fiverr account settings page to add an extra layer of security in case your password is compromised.
• Educate yourself: Regularly review Fiverr’s Trust & Safety resources to stay updated on best practices and new security measures.
• Report suspicious activity: If you encounter any suspicious activity or behavior, report it immediately. This helps keep the platform safe for everyone
• Use strong passwords: Ensure your password is strong, unique, and updated regularly. Avoid using guessable information like birthdays or common words.

By following the above tips, and the ones in our previous Handling spam messages post, you can help protect your account and enjoy a safer, more productive freelancing experience on Fiverr. If you have concerns about your account security or notice suspicious activity, please contact Fiverr’s Customer Support.

I got a notification today, related to this (about keeping accounts secure), that Fiverr probably sent to everyone, which links to:

https://help.fiverr.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010978898-Keeping-your-account-safe-from-malware-and-phishing

which will help a bit with new users, though that help link doesn't mention the QR codes that keep being sent to new users.

It could have shown an example of a QR code (that wouldn't actually lead to anywhere if scanned) and explained that Fiverr staff will never actually send those things to users in the Fiverr inbox.

They could also have shown more examples of fake ways people are entering Fiverr like URLs to try to scam people "the fiverr.anysitename.com" (not just the fiverr.com.co" shown in the help page).

I hope Fiverr blocked these usernames: "Fiverr Team" "Support Team" "Secure Team" "Customer Support" and other.

- Most of these names should not be allowed to be used as a normal user.

A further security step would require Google Authenticator for each login.
