Can't block buyers anymore?

Recommended Posts

Hey

I just noticed I can't find the option to block a buyer anymore, can't we do that anymore?

For example, someone placed an order, provided no info and when I asked for information, he canceled the order saying he already took care of it => my stats get affected => I don't want this buyer to be able to order from me again because I had a "previous negative experience"... I don't see this option anymore.

thx!

If there any messages on Fiverr inbox, you may select a message and report. Then it will ask to block the buyer. That's the only place I could see the "Block" option.

only have "report" or "mark as spam" + even if there was a block option, you would not be able to block a seller that never messaged you on the inbox...

I remember I went to customer support and they mentioned there was some kind of issue that rendered the blocking system unusable. So I can only assume they stopped that completely. As the others said, you will need to have at least one message from the person in the inbox so you can block them that way/mark as spam, etc. Otherwise, there's no way to block a buyer currently. Will they redo that system and add it to Seller Plus? Certainly seems possible.

You will see the "block" option after reporting the conversion.

Yes. That's the issue of current system.

I hope this message finds you well. I want to bring to light an important issue regarding buyer practices on our platform that I believe warrants our attention and discussion.

As many of us know, Fiverr has clear policies against the creation of multiple accounts by buyers, as this undermines the integrity of our marketplace. Unfortunately, I recently encountered a situation that left me both frustrated and concerned. A buyer I had previously blocked created a second account and openly admitted to doing so. Despite my efforts to report this to Fiverr support with accompanying evidence, their response was perplexing, and they ultimately sided with the buyer.

This experience forced me into a difficult position where I had to fulfill an order from this buyer on their new profile to avoid jeopardizing my delivery status. It’s disheartening to feel pressured to accommodate someone who has previously disrupted my experience as a seller.

I believe it is crucial for us to advocate for clearer policies and more robust support systems that protect sellers from such practices. The integrity of our community depends on a fair marketplace for everyone.

I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this matter. Together, we can work towards ensuring a more equitable environment for all Fiverr users.

Thank you for your time.
