Gig Denied

My sole source of revenue is from Fiverr. We are a team of three young riggers and animators that have worked on Fiverr for five years. I recently contacted another rigger on Fiverr for assistance because we were having problems rigging a dragon. He then asked me to send him a picture of my model, which I did. After a few minutes, when he didn't reply to me again and he stopped me from contacting him as well, Fiverr informed me that my rigging gig had been denied at that same moment.

This guy just reported me falsely because he thinks we are in competition when in reality, this is a platform where we all make some money and feed our families. I am not in a competition with him, but I don't understand why he should report me falsely so that he can get the rigging gigs. I have to use free models from Maximo or buy models online, which is what I did. I bought most of my models on cgtrader.com and rigged them for my portfolio. I am currently in pain because I worked so hard to earn my reviews. I have given over 100 completed gigs a 5 star rating. Therefore, I have the following query: Can't I submit my rigging portfolio using the models I've purchased and received for free from Maximo after i did the rigging for my portfolio?

You are not clear as to what you were asking the other seller. If you were asking "I can't finish this, how much would you charge me to fix it?" That would be a legitimate message and proper. If you were just asking for advice but not intending to hire the other person then the message was indeed spam, and he was correct to report it. I suggest making sure that when you contact another seller that it is clear you are looking to hire them, not chat.

I'm sorry to hear your gig was denied, but Mike has a valid point.

Since we can't see your denied gig, we can't check the wording. Did your gig claim you could rig anything? Or that there'd be a certain number of points? I'd find 'false advertising' more likely a reason for the gig being denied.

Actually, that might be the issue, if the other seller thought this involved stolen content. Did you have a disclaimer, or state outright that the models were not yours?

No, I didn't. I anticipate saying at my next gig how shocked I was that it happened to me, but other than that, everything is fine. I'm delighted that the buyer is still waiting for me to create a new gig because he's truly waiting for me to give him an offer.

I'm really but... you can never be sure if that seller is the one who reported you. even if they are, it doesn't matter. it will help you a lot more to contact support and ask what went wrong. they have re-initiated denied gigs in the past, so there is always a chance.

as far as I know, it is okay to use the models, images, and other creatives if you have the proper rights to do so! best to look into the fine print and see if your purchase comes with commercial rights and stuff.

best to contact CS for a case-specific answer though.
