It allows you to 1) stop seeing the hacks you rated positively out of courtesy (who appear on the main page with the byline “based on your orders”); 2) stop seeing the hacks you would never work with; 3) stop seeing the sellers who have too much negative press; 4) stop seeing sellers who just don’t get it.
