I made a Totoro kimono and will be running around in it talking to fellow nerds and taking photos 😄

  3. Oh your majesty, I thank you for the entertainment while I sip my afternoon coffee with my pistachio cupcake (seriously, I really had it)

I wonder how long it will take till you get "OK thank you for your advice but how do I get sales" replies.

  4. A good number of you guys have heard me rant about this many times here, I try reporting fake sellers quite often.
Each time I am very polite, I thank the staff who is reading it, and since the report is pretty long with all the details etc,
I also add an apology telling them that I am sorry to make them read  a rather long report.
.....and so far nothing is being done. I get the usual "blah blah blah, in the meantime please use the report button" cookie cutter response.
The part that sucks is, I clearly mention in the report that I have used the report/flagging button many times but nothing is being done.

Back in the day, every time I reported a fake seller they got banned in an instant.
I wonder what changed all of this???

HOT SAUCE TIPS....I kinda like that!! I think I'll use that....well, someday. It's gonna make me sound cool for sure! 😁

(btw I myself am not a big fan of actual hot sauce. I like my sauce to be mild and sweet)

  6. I don't come to the forum as much as I used to because I believe this place is being flooded with silly repetitive posts, but boy am I glad I decided to drop by.
I was able to read this post!!
I do need to point out though, has it already been deleted, or am I not seeing ANY of those "great advice thank you surr" posts!!??

  7. I'm not a writer, but I do offer translation.

I am quite glad to be able to say that FOR NOW my orders are not going down.
For certain topics I guess AI can do a somewhat of a decent job, but when it comes to translating spoken sentences/conversations, they suuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
I haven't had people specifically ask me if I use any AI, but I'm sure someone is gonna ask me that soon.

  8. OH POOP!
Happy birthday, @mae_creativity, I know I am sooooo late but I still want to wish you a late happy birthday, and I'm so sorry you were having the blues.
Seems like your birthday was last week so hopefully the blue-phase is gone now, and you're feeling happy.
My birthday doesn't come until October, but for me it's day where I have the perfect excuse to eat whatever the heck I want.
Back when I had my 16th birthday my mother allowed me to have one little glass of this peach champagne, and boy did it taste good.
(BTW I'm sipping wine as I'm typing this, oh my innocence is gone. )

I'm glad a lot of people left comments for you 😄 😄 😄

  9. I've only seen bit and pieces of Kitchen Nightmares, but that chef dude yelling at people in his British accent is...
    quite amusing to watch.

(I did read somewhere that he's actually really sweet off camera)

BTW I'm sure there were SOME, I repeat SOME people who asked for suggestions/advice here at the forum, took it seriously and eventually improved and
increased their sales...but yeah the majority of the people who ask for help are...sigh. 😅

    I need one too since

I wish I can just sit down in a room with my cool fellow sellers, have coffee and doughnuts  🍩and rant together for... and hour or two.
After that we can all go out for dinner and drinks. Boy that would be so much fun.

But seriously Fiverr, I know you can't be perfect and there will always be flaws, but you guys really need to do a better job with vetting the obviously bad sellers and problem buyers..

  11. So I've been offering translations here at Fiverr for quite some time, and for the ones who's been hanging out here at the forum knows that every now and then I
complain about fake Google/AI /whatever translation app translators.
Sadly a lot of the buyers put a lot of trust ( or I guess blind faith) in them and believe/assume that the sellers are honest and skilled, and a lot of times they are fooled by the 5 star reviews. Sadly the fake seller I've been trying to report is a level 2 seller with a decent amount of 5 stars, so I can see why many people think this person is reliable.

A few weeks ago I was asked to proofread a translation, and yeah, sadly it was garbage quality. I asked who worked on the original translation, and surprise surprise, it was the fake seller mentioned above. I guess I'll try reporting this garbage seller once again but I get the feeling nothing will be done.
Anyway, I honestly told the buyer that the translation was bad, so this buyer decided to ask another translator. A few days later the translation was finished, and I was asked to proofread it. It was still very poor quality. I honestly told the buyer, and after a few messages back and forth, he finally decided to ask me to do the translation.
(....Honestly, he could have asked me from the very start but oh well 😅.)

I am of course upset with the fake sellers, but at the same time I am somewhat upset with the buyers too.
True, a lot of fake translators are level 1/2 sellers, they have a lot of 5 star reviews, so in most cases the buyers only sees the reviews and levels and never pay attention to the gig description and profile.

If the buyers actually took the time and read through the profile and gig description, they will spot a good number of grammar mistakes a lot of times.
I understand that in some cases the buyers are not native English speakers and therefore don't notice those mistakes but most of the buyers that asked me to proofread were native English speakers. If a "professional" "certified" translator had grammar mistakes in their gig description, that should be a huge red flag.
However this can be tricky because many fake seller simply copy/paste other native sellers' description so there are no mistakes in the description.

Buyers, be careful when ordering a translation gig. Read eeeeeeverything; their gig description, profile, and IF they have a negative review, even if it's just one or two of them,  read both the buyer and the seller's comments.

If the buyer says anything like  "I asked a native friend to check it and she said it was terrible"

and the seller responds with "I do cant understand why she give me bad review I did work good"

Just go look for another seller. Also don't forget to ask another person to proofread it.

OK, rant done. I'm going to get myself a doughnut.

  14. So literally a few minutes ago while I was taking a break at my office while I was reading through the forum...
I suddenly wanted to eat takoyaki. Don't ask me why. For any of those who don't know what takoyaki is, they are called....octopus balls I guess...?

some might say Yum, some might say Eeew~~, but hey, I like them, and I needed them!!
I ran out of the office, rushed to the store, and I got my takoyaki.

  16. All I can say is "it happens."
Since I've been on Fiverr for over 10 years, I guess nothing really surprises me at this point??
My sales are nothing close to yours BTW, Fiverr is just a little side income.
Back in January/February/March, my sales were pretty darn low, very low in fact I was actually quite shocked.
It felt so strange to have an entire week where I had zero orders!

having that said though, I did absolutely nothing. I didn't change the keywords, didn't update the gig description, nothing.
And sales just simply somewhat recovered from this month.
I just have my ups and down, that's all 😄

  17. True, the 3 Fiverr questions are far more annoying ( in fact at first I wasn't even aware that the darn thing existed!),
but the 2 questions I added myself is a must.

I'm sure for some buyers it's annoying but it's very important for me.
I've had way too many sneaky buyers. Not sure how much it's working though, but oh well.😅
