  1. Just today got an automatic reply, exactly as you say: "I'm not there but here is my standard auto-reply". Then hours later, I got almost exactly the same reply. It REALLY is not, to quote you "satisfying" and it certainly is not, to quote you again, "the attention they deserve to get". It is using YOUR needs to waste MY time. Needless to say, I chose another seller, and not the one with the duplicate auto reply and actual reply. You may think it is "super useful" but let me tell you, some of us find it super offensive! I hope you find goodluck!
  2. Just found this discussion .. after posting a complaint (in a different part of the forum) from the buyer's side about briefs. As a buyer you are FORCED to select one of a very few 'categories' so .. either you make one with an inaccurate category (and probably annoy the careful readers among sellers) or you can't use the feature. I tried once, got a few inappropriate responses, and turned it off within a few hours. Seems like a good notion but really badly implemented!
  3. For something I order regularly finding sellers by searching among sellers works fine, but for things a little less common it seemed possible to describe my project and allow sellers to find it and propose solutions. Unfortunately there is a required field called "category" with EXTREEEEEEMELY limited choices .. so having taken the time to write up a project I am getting unrelated offers -- all at my "budget" price point, and all related to the (False) category -- but none related to what I need. Can't this be improved?
  4. Not just that but the tip fee is huge -- can be 30% extra. Makes me really reluctant to tip even when I appreciate the service. For repeat orders I often ask the seller to add a tip in advance.
  5. As a buyer who is from time to time asked for a review: please do not ask. I have not yet retaliated by a bad review but for sure I have never given a review higher than my honest opinion. The next one who asks will probably get a worse review!
  6. fwiw, do not send inbox ads. they are just annoying to a buyer. I tried one time and was not happy with the result (yes, ok not a great sample, but still ..) . Make your profile FINDABLE by searches. Way more valuable. A buyer has something or other in mind as key for the buy: make sure your profile has that something or other available for search!
  7. Thanks for the help! Yes indeed, I have found some great sellers and not yet any really bad ones; occasionally not a great fit between what I hope to find and what they produce.
  8. Occasionally it is good to check out an unknown seller by looking at their reviews, and sometimes those reviews sound a little fishy. Somewhere I saw the advice to "click on the link for the giver of the review" and see what that person/service is like, but as a buyer, those links are not clickable and it does not seem possible to search for buyers by name. So: any ideas for how to validate a seller's reviews other than by wasting money and time with a trial order?
  9. Buyer response: I hate it. It means I get a pointless message immediately .. so I waste time going to look at it. Then a couple hours later I get the real response, which is often nearly the same thing. Bad idea if you are a seller to begin with wasting the buyer's time.
  10. As a buyer, financial 'fairness' matters. Even a fairly small amount of money can turn off a buyer. Perfectly happy to pay for fair value, but when the sellers start cranking up the price .. and for something a buyer orders often, it is not too difficult to peg a correct number .. then we keep looking.
  11. Fiverr this is most likely your fault. As a buyer, I'm getting the same set of irrelevant and irritating 'questions' to begin an order from nearly all sellers. NONE of them are useful. Please back it off. Nobody wants to know what I think about flowers or scents or where I planted potatoes (exaggerating but these are the kinds of silly questions) but every seller recently is asking the same stupid questions at the beginning of an order. Word for word, the same stupid questions. Hence .. it is the site that causes it. Please please undo it. Let the seller ask relevant questions, or just say, old style, "what do you the buyer need to tell me?" Without exaggeration, these are the questions every darn seller seems to be asking: How will you use this order? (optional) Which industry do you work in? (optional) What are you looking to achieve with this order? (optional)
