  1. But I have earned barely $200-300 and completed under 10 orders, so should I be receiving this? Also I checked and fiverr says that anyone above 13 can become a seller. Please correct me if I’m wrong. What do you need help with? It is correct you are a individual. Put your name address and social security number. You do need to fill it out per fiverr rules, but won’t need to pay any taxes since you will not have made over $600.
  2. You can send customer support that question on the same ticket as your other one. Anyone who is still confused about this should probably ask customer support. They can explain it better. We have a long thread now about this with people still asking what they should do so it’s obvious we are not doing a good job of explaining it.
  3. Are you sure? I understood it to say all US citizens must have a completed W9, but unless we make at $20,000 and complete at least 200 orders in 2020, Fiverr will not be sending out a 1099 form. You are probably right.
  4. Will you be earning at least $20,000 in 2020? And completed at least 200 orders? If not you will not need to fill out a W-9. The tax season is considered a calendar year. We did not have a tax season that just ended. It will end at the end of 2020. You might have meant the tax filing deadline, which was for 2019 and ended in April, although I think this year it was extended past that date. If you will have earned at least $600 in 2020 you will still need to pay taxes but won’t be getting a 1099 from fiverr showing your earnings apparently.
  5. This seems to be very confusing. How hard is it to figure out if you are a U.S. citizen or not?
  6. Hi you don’t need a tax professional for your first question. It is what you earned meaning what you withdraw. That is your income. Since I always withdraw my earnings to Paypal I use their statements. Nothing else is needed. I simply copy their statements of yearly earnings to give to my tax accountant.
  7. Your profile says Vietnamese so your clients know where you are from. They already know. I don’t see why US citizens submitting a tax form would affect anything.
  8. I read that a company can only submit 250 1099’s electronically. I’m sure that will create a lot of mailings for fiverr. How is fiverr going to send the IRS a million 1099’s?
  9. That means you agree you don’t live in the U.S. It’s a little confusing because if you are a U.S. citizen living outside the U.S. you still pay U.S. taxes (I think).
  10. In the future if you ever do earn that much you will have to fill it out. You are a US citizen. You should get a social security number also.
  11. Then you don’t need to worry about it. btw Washington dc hospital is in Washington D.C. not California.
  12. Have you earned at least $20,000 this year or by the end of this year?
  13. You can always see the form you filled out when you go to your account. You can make changes to it there also.
  14. It says you completed the form in the same place you completed the form. You click the next button and see that message.
  15. I’m sure it is required. Whatever address you use to pay your taxes from would be the one to use. It is required if you made over $20,000 and had at least 200 orders.
  16. You could try putting a 0 on that second address line maybe. You can then later go edit it out.
  17. Yes I have that too. …It’s a message that stays there even if you have it filled out.
  18. Did you put in your social security number? And check the part that asks if you are a individual, etc? When I clicked the next button it said I completed it.
  19. The W9 form is just for US sellers. It’s hardly a celebration to have to fill out a tax form. I think you misunderstand. Be thankful you don’t have to fill it out.
  20. On the W9 it asks if you are a corporation or not. They can get 1099’s.
  21. A few years ago the IRS decided anyone who pays anyone anything should have them fill out a W9 creating an impossible sunami of paperwork for everyone in the country especially the IRS. So hopefully they recently revised that awful rule. Before if you paid someone $10 you would be required to make them fill out that form.
  22. That’s the first I’ve seen that. It must be in the newest IRS rules.
