  1. True, but a 20% commission should cover it. The old Fiverr business model was they spend $5, we get $4, Fiverr gets $1. Simple. Now our buyers are spending more money, we’re not protected from refunds, but Fiverr always keeps the fees. I’m protected from refunds, I always get my money back from fiverr if there is a chargeback.
  2. I don’t know why those with hidden profiles would not be able to be blocked.
  3. One can simply choose to block them mentally and not respond. I happen to have a hidden profile as I recall but I know you don’t mean me. ❤️ Or if you do I can unblock it, you can block me, and then I can block it again. I can tell you are irritated by my posts. Let me know if you want to try this. I have no problem with it. When I get time I will unblock it for you so you can do that. I didn’t know that you couldn’t do that if the profile was hidden. I’ve unblocked my profile so you can block me now. The problem is you can still see my posts if you click on them. It’s not a true block.
  4. I get those too. After the second hi they usually stop.
  5. You are entitled to your opinion also but in my case I actually have many clients from third world countries, and sometimes those who start out saying hi have ordered from me. So it’s not really an opinion in my case, just what I’ve experienced over the years. I found this map of least developed countries to be of interest. I have clients from a lot of these countries – I counted 11 countries on this map which orders have come from: 1920×851 138 KBBy Gabbe, by trivially changing a map originally by Canuckguy - Based on Image:BlankMap-World6, compact.svg with colour applied., Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=3359697
  6. We all get people who only say hi or hello. Sometimes if you ask what they need you might find they want to order or have some questions you can answer. And it’s normal to get questions or messages from countries besides the one you live in.
  7. What makes you think it’s a scam for someone to say hello?
  8. Open the gig draft like you are going to edit it. You will see a button to click that says something like “save and publish”. Click that button.
  9. You have the scammer’s website URL there in that message so please cover that up or your message will probably be removed, thanks.
  10. Hi @sebastian787, I had to see what you were replying to and see that it was about something I wrote a year ago. I’m really not sure what you are asking. If you want to know if I think there are fake reviews here I suppose there are some. I am a buyer as well as a seller and try to use top rated sellers only since I know what kind of scrutiny fiverr gives to top rated sellers. I hope that helps. Your message to me here sounded like you were upset with something I said so I hope that’s not the case. I see you just joined the forum less than one hour ago and so far this is your only post. So welcome!
  11. These usually follow the same pattern you are describing. It’s very common. It’s your decision based on: how much stress of dealing with the person you can tolerate2.how much you don’t want a bad review 3.how much you think a cancellation will hurt you. We don’t have actual statistics on what exactly each of these possible scenarios will do to your sales or account. It’s a hard situation to be in.
  12. Hello, it’s still a long story. I wish you could edit out about 90%. But that’s probably just me. I like it concise when there is a problem. I went through it reading only the first sentence of each paragraph and got the gist of it. It’s really your decision which is the worst for you. This is a very common problem probably caused by someone wanting free work.
  13. I found your gig in 2 seconds. It’s in the third row when I search under “find expired domain having backlinks”.
  14. Your gigs are showing and probably as soon as you get your first order this will stop happening. There needs to be activity as a seller first. There is nothing to show you as a seller.
  15. I’m not an expert but it sounds like you split it into separate files. No reason to give the same file multiple times. So if someone orders a five minute file you could split it into five different files of one minute each.
  16. I deal with them intuitively. Usually they are told that I won’t speak to them unless they are polite. I don’t get many of them at all. Understanding what makes them tick has really helped me a lot.
  17. Here is the one indicator I watch: My income and how many orders I’m getting. Even conversion rate can be misleading. If your prices are $5 your conversion rate would be higher than if your prices for the same things are $50. Yet your income would be lower. Lower conversion rate goes along with higher prices for your gigs.
  18. I haven’t looked at my impressions in well over 6 months. The number constantly goes up and down. Usually that is only useful when you are actively trying to market your gigs somehow, to see if you are being successful at it. Otherwise impressions are one of those things not under our own control. Watching them is a waste of time.
  19. It’s the seller’s responsibility to get you the files. The seller should have sent downloadable files as a delivery on the order page. He or she can also put them in a link to dropbox where you can find them. Ask your seller where the files are.
  20. You should politely question the buyer about why they think they should get a refund and work it out with them. That is probably what customer support would say. Since they left a 5 star review there shouldn’t be a valid reason.
  21. I remember the shock I felt when I first saw that extra fee. I’m not a miserly person, but that surprised me.
  22. There are six or seven countries fiverr can’t do business with due to economic sanctions imposed on them for various reasons.
  23. I’ve found they ask for a free sample and then when told no become abusive.
  24. I am thinking in terms of the positive effect on the US economy of this site. It keeps a lot of money moving. This and Amazon are major forces for our economic stability and health.
  25. @gogugmg You continue to amaze me with the volume of orders and happy clients you get. You are an inspiration.
