It's such a delicate situation, especially considering how easy it is for lines to get blurred and for messages to get lost in translation when you're communicating exclusively via the order messenger. I know that I had a difficult time saying no to buyers in the beginning, but that's my "people-pleasing" nature anyway. That being said, I agree with @theratypist and @alexandamedia. You have to stand your ground. Put on your best customer service persona and remind them of terms of the buyer-seller arrangement. I've learned to spot the difference between a buyer that needs guidance and one that thinks they've got you by the ... well, you know. If anything, it might be wise to log the issue with customer support just so that they are aware of this buyer's behavior. I've had a few clients like this and I think it comes down to how they sign on with you in the first place. The "quick to click" types are usually a bag or problems. As soon as you receive a direct order, make sure you iron out everything that is included in the package that they've selected (just in case they missed it). I've created a PDF/presentation that I send to clients. It details the terms of service, number of revisions included, and fees for additional payments that they can make on Fiverr. It also lists all of my previous work and a few examples. When it comes down to it, some buyers don't know what they want out of a project, while others just try to take advantage of a situation. Stand firm. Be polite. Document everything and get in touch with CS if the matter persists. Best of luck!
  2. It depends on what service you're looking for. We all start at the bottom of the proverbial when we sign up as sellers, and ranking has very little to do with a seller's real world experience. Engage with them and get a feel for their expertise within their service area. If they seem knowledgeable, ask them if they have a portfolio that you can have a look at. If they don't have one, it just might be the push that they need to create one. At the end of the day, it all comes down to their level of real world experience and price. Give new sellers a try. We all had to start somewhere. 🙂
  3. Where do I begin? First off, if you're feeling a little discouraged about not appearing in searches, I highly suggest that you read my post about getting started on Fiverr. Bidding is the way to go, and I explain the entire process in that post. Now, back to the topic at hand: why is better to work on Fiverr? For me, it's the simplicity of the whole system. You see, I've tried several other platforms and the time that it takes to constantly bid for work and send proposals is insane. It's exhausting! You're constantly having to prove your worth over and over again. Yes, you'll eventually level up and have some semblance of a consistent income, but by comparison, Fiverr is head and shoulders above the rest. I have yet to experience a month where I didn't have orders on Fiverr. I spent the vast majority of my early days bidding for work, but once the 5 star reviews started to roll in, I didn't need to. I'll still bid on work that I am really keen to explore, but Fiverr truly does take the hassle out of having to "sell yourself" constantly. If you're having doubts about whether you can make it on Fiverr, my advice to you would be to remain patient. Keep bidding, and your luck will turn around eventually. We're living the dream: being able to work from anywhere in the world and provide value for clientele who truly appreciate our services. There is nowhere else I would rather be, to be quite frank.   4. I think that would be a good idea. The more of the features that you use on your gigs the better (FAQs, Optional Extras, etc.)
  5. Bid on buyer requests! When I wanted to increase my ranking and fast, I bid on gigs. It's important that you speak to the nature of the buyer's actual requests. Don't just speak about your expertise and why they should work with you. Try to structure it like this: Greeting; Speak about the buyer's project; Why they should work with you; End it off with something formal, but friendly, like 'Kind regards [NAME]', or 'Looking forward to assisting you with this!' Now, when it comes to bidding on buyer requests, you have to do this during your target audience's hours. Google time zone difference between your target audience and your location, and be online during their working hours. It's exhausting, I know. I stayed up between midnight and 3AM every single night in the beginning, having to wake up and tend to my family in the morning, but it was worth it. I now have consistent orders coming in as a Level 2 Seller. Also use the "Grammarly Writing Assistant" to proofread all of your gigs as well as your bids. It's free to use and you can add an extension to any Windows or Mac PC. You can do this!
  6. Definitely start bidding on gigs. Depending on the nature of your gig, you might have to do this at odd hours. It all comes down to where your key target audience is situated. For example if you figure that most of your target audience is situated in the US, do a Google search for the time zones across the country (remember eastern and western seaboards are on different time zones). Once you have a set of time zones, work out the time difference from where you're located and try to be online to bid on gigs between 08:00 and 22:00 in your target audience's time zone. The reason why I say this is that a lot of buyers post requests and put a limit on how many bids they want to receive. Obviously they don't want to have to sift through hundreds of offers, right? So, if you're not online when they're online to post a bid, you're going to miss out on it. Bid low, offer excellent service, and make sure you've followed all of Fiverr's tips for gig optimization. Also use the "Grammarly Writing Assistant" to proofread your gig description. It's absolutely free to use and you can add an extension to any Windows or Mac PC. Do the same for the bids that you write. Hope that helps!
  7. Hi tahnik! Have you set all your gigs to have express delivery options? Fiverr generally likes sellers that can get the work done well and fast, so be sure to edit your gig and add in reasonable express delivery options to it. This should rank you a little higher in your field. Hope that helps!
  8. ghanes14 That's awful! I've been saying for a while now that sellers seem to be caught between a rock and a hard place. Have you brought the matter up with customer support? I had a client cancel an order on me after doing everything that they requested and I was able to show proof of this in my conversation with CS. They remedied my rating, effectively removing her fraudulent cancellation. Perhaps they could remove the strike warning if you speak to an actual consultant and explain this whole mess to them. So sorry you had to experience that.
