Why doesn't Fiver have a built-in voice/video function in the general chat?

Many clients need face-to-face communication to build trust and ultimately for a deal to close, and Fiverr doesn't provide that functionality.
I have accepted the fact that I have violated the TOS, and my account is restricted for 2 months...but voice/video call is a fundamental function you guys should provide, since so many clients are requesting it. And we are getting restricted for providing this service through external software...

    Anyway, have a good day.

You already a leveled seller (like you mentioned Level 2).

You should have built-in ZOOM video/voice call option button like @williambryan392 mentioned

(if your selling average is $50+ on analytics page)

Purely for discussion, but has anyone ever attempted to developed a friendship from a FIVERR business relationship? What happened?

In my case, I never attempted nor want to.

I believe family, relatives, friends and business should be treated differently.

Friendly behavior is necessary, but being a friend ? I don't think so.

They need service, and we need income.

When need is over, both say goodbye. Simple!

I think in business we need to think about profit.

When old relation becomes non-profitable compared to new ones, we simply dump it.
Because we are here to grow, not to carry out friendships even when they are burden.

(Just a thought, I'm open to hear disagreements.)

@Kesha Do you mean "Success Score" will be based on previous 2 years ratings ?

Also will this score includes both private and public ratings ?

Between how this score is being calculated ? Is it based on no. of stars ? or AI learning from order/chat conservations ? or AI learning based on text review ?

    Hello Colleagues,

Please advise me how to st up a Gig on Fiverr whereby I sell my specialised Engineering software package - all contained in an a zipped archive.

I have tried through the normal Gig interface, but can't figure out what options to select, and where to upload my zip file.

Many thanks for your kind assistance.  😊

Normally Fiverr is meant for selling CUSTOM services

It may not be good choice for selling ready made and resell-able assets/templates

For selling softwares, maybe check codecanyon, sellix etc (just a hint, you can research further)

  5. Level do impacts impressions and ranking

Specially new rating system offer more features according to level

I suggest lowering rate, something is better than nothing

by new orders, you can correct statistics. Specially on time delivery.

I usually request time extension before delivering

(If buyer agrees, fiverr won't have issue either. Thus on-time delivery won't impact)

I created a topic yesterday about this but it disappeared. I'm not sure how moderation works here so I'll try again.

I've been contacted by a client - which I was very happy with, because I'm a newbie here. After discussing a few things they asked for a free sample. The price I charge here so far is very low compared to my normal life price, so I politely refused.

So I wanted to ask if there is anyone who actually gives free samples and has seen any good outcome from that ? Isn't it a red flag not to work with a client that asks for free work ?

Normally clients do ask for samples.

But not free work, probably its red flag. They are scammers, not buyer.

I suppose this is in reference to a gig of yours that has the most sections.

Most people don't seem to read the FAQ's on gigs, so I was thinking of integrating more of them into my buyer requirements but already have nine of my own sections--so 12 total with Fiverr's added in. I'm just trying to gain an understanding of what other freelancers have and evaluate what might be too much.

    Thank you!

I added only 2 sections(describe and attachment), even which are optional

Its because I work 100% on CUSTOM offers, which are discussed within inbox

FAQs are at very bottom side of page

So I fear few would read it

If buyers don't read FAQ, may be add bunch of FAQs as compulsory multi choice options like

    - "yes I got it"

    - "i don't understand"

But that may force them to read though 😂

Its completely f****d in my opinion. I've got 99 percent 5 star reviews on my gig. And it says

    "Client satisfaction

    Strong negative impact"

Ok so having 99 percent 5 star reviews on the gig means my client satisfaction is having a strong negative impact? Are you insane?

Also I have about 1 cancellation a year where me and a client can't agree. The rest of them is clients ordering by mistake. But yet is says

    "Order cancellations
    Strong negative impact"

So in my opinion there is no other explanation other than they must be counting historic cancellations that they said would have no negative impact on my gig. It's outrageous. I mean I really do have about 1 cancellation a year. I've been top level seller consistently for 5 years and have never dropped down.

Then all of a sudden they say my cancellations are having a strong negative impact? When support have cancelled all of them for me and removed them from my cancellation score?!

And the client satisfaction thing is nonsensical. I was on the beta for the fiverr seller plus thing and my fiverr seller plus handler was a senior guy on the fiverr team. He told me my review track record was one of the best he'd ever seen. Thats why I got put on the beta. They test out the new features on the top people.

    This is utter garbage.

Almost same happening with me. In my gig, it says "Client satisfaction" as "Negative impact"...

At same time, repeat analytics says 100% of buyers are repetitive.

    Does it make sense ?

I'm clueless how they calculate such results.

I worry that the value for money question will result only in a “race to the bottom” on pricing.

Here’s a possible, scenario (and I hope I’m wrong on this).

Decent sellers (who charge appropriately) will start getting bad ratings because, when prompted with a question on value for money, many buyers (even after agreeing to a price and being very happy with the result) will simply think, “well, it could have been cheaper”. This is a natural thought that most rational people will have. Of course it could be cheaper. However, that doesn’t mean it should be cheaper.

So decent sellers will start to lose business as their ratings steadily fall, so then they’ll be forced to lower their prices.

Then what? They’ll get more orders, at a lower rate and deliver work worth much more than they’re charging. However, many buyers, when asked about the value for money will still think, “well, it could have been cheaper”, because of course it could!

Now the cycle repeats and everyone’s prices are forced lower and lower.

It used to be that decent services cost more, but now decent sellers will have to undercharge or take a hit on orders as their ratings drop. This could be even more pronounced for Pro and Top Rated Sellers, seeing as buyer expectations will be even higher for them (understandably).

I do think there are times that one can get a perfect score for value for money. Getting tipped is a good indicator that a buyer thinks the service was worth more than they paid. However, this might indicate that the seller should be raising their prices, putting them at more risk of getting poorer scores for “value for money”.

I hope I’m wrong on this but I think it’s a reasonable concern. I just hope in two years time we’re not going to be in a place where everyone charges $5 for everything and has a 3.5 star average.

I think the quality of the delivery and the cost of delivery are very important measures, but they should not be measured in one rating. These should be two separate questions as they are both variables in their own right.

It would have happened earlier, if question was only “it could have been cheaper...”

Imagine "Recommend to friend" be like "why should I recommend friend a expensive service!"

    There's many other questions:
"Did the product profit ? If not, reason ? Is that strategy issue or due to poor product ?"

"Is there anyone other... who can understand me ? is experienced ? can do same work in same time and quality ? If yes, why I hired him, not them ?"

So I believe cheap buyers... will remain same as before regardless of whatever system fiverr invent 😅

Meaning of hiring TRS/PRO probably demands quality/speed ? or aren't there's a lot of $5 gigs exists already in every field ?

There's no hack to get level earlier than planned (15th). Leveling system will change after 2-3 days, so expect different scenario.

No answer and even no longer available online. It has happened already 3 or 4 times. Why would it happen? Are they scammers?

I start my discussion by thanking everyone. Lately, I've been neglecting Buyers on one thing. Some Buyers will come, negotiate, and give work. But when they get the job done, they no longer need to finish the order. Many of them just stay in the inbox with compliments. I know the job will be automatically finished after 3 days even if it is not the buyer finished from his side. It hurts me when they don't finish from their side.

Can you suggest to me how I can tell this to my buyers? I don't always expect a review from them, Let them finish the order by getting their complete work in hand. That's all I want from my buyers.

There are many issues at a moment on fiverr

Most of time solution is patience (ignore and continue to other)

Review is optional, their wish if they write or not

For order, it will auto complete after 3 days itself

If you can wait 14 days of withdrawal clearance, does saving 2 days matters ? 😂

Or you may also request buyer to accept delivery as all requirements satisfied

The new rating system will force all of us who want to stay in business here to lower our prices to get more volume of work to drown bad reviews as otherwise the only option is to get no orders as a result of bad reviews.

I was wondering how it may affect competition, price and no. of orders ?
I mean all sellers will get hit the same way (as system changed for everyone equally).

So if you were degraded from 5 to 4 ratings, expect same for other sellers like 4 to 3, 3 to 2, 2 to 1 etc ?

So wouldn't it will be same ? except name of 5 changed to 4.x ?

In the "Manage orders" all I get is just a list of the orders I've placed - nothing in that list showa me what each one is.

How do I know what's what without looking into each one?  There is no preview pic, no thumbnail no words.  It's just a list of the same thing.  I can't find anything

I assume I'm missing something here - how do I know what's what without looking into each one?

Features are quite limited on fiverr I fear

Closest you can do is mark order as STAR and  it appears in STARRED tab

  15. From some months I'm noticing I can't access all reviews of buyer on their profile. Profile shows only 5 reviews. Rest are hidden. Is that case with you guys as well ?

Is this due to maintenance (product launch maybe) ?
Or it did in favor of seller plus package ?

This is really important feature (atleast for me). It elaborates buyer's personality. So can say if gonna continue relations or not.

Hi guys, I'd love some feedback from you, you know how fiverr is, some days you get a lot of new buyers and sales and sometimes you don't. I'd like to get some tips from you, I think i'm using the right keywords for good SEO, but please let me know your thoughts.  I don't know if I should increase the price of my basic package, I see many buyers are selling logos for $25 (basic)  but I don't know, I'm afraid if I do this I might not get sales... (or maybe it could help me look more professional and discard clients that only pay $5-$10 per gig) what do you think?

Any tips to increase my views, sales, if I should change anything or anything you need to say, is welcome!  This is my gig

that gig have 7K reviews, probably SEO was fine that it appeared well in searches

Forget about SEO, stay online or any other hacks. It does nothing, just waste time.

    in recent, reviews weren't good

and graphic design have good competition already

Hey, new to fiver. My first try at a digital manager in a specialty market was a scammer. Currently trying to get a refund or transfer through support since it’s got 10/12 days left I didn’t think it would be an issue since it is self reported in the chat transcript. But I wanted to ask others on this platform, is this the majority? I’m having trouble finding legitimate services now that I’m paying attention. Is this not regulated at all?

    1. You have risked by hiring a new seller (having 1-3 reviews ?)

    2. If work delivered incomplete, request refund from customer support, regardless of how much days been went

    3. for finding legitimate services:

    - respect seller's seniority:

On 1/17/2024 at 12:17 PM, shaunbaines said:

I'd stick with sellers who have a large number of five star reviews and who have been working on the platform for a decent length of time. This information can be found on their profile and is worth studying before placing an order.

    - and sandbox with small basis:

On 1/17/2024 at 9:08 AM, moikchap said:

throw a small simple task out to a lot of different sellers and then continuing with whoever does the best from among that group. So you "waste" a bit of money checking people out, but you can likely find a worthwhile seller that you recoup some savings with so you can stay within your overall budget.

If you charge $200 and you also have a $5 gig, you might be doing something wrong. But in general, Fiverr's support will help you if it's not your fault. There will be exceptions, but as I said, it's a good idea to go to customer support and see if they can assist with removing that cancelation from your stats.

    That $ was example.

Fiverr support very good most of times. But difficult buyers, I don't think there's any fix ? just to avoid them.

    This doesn't make sense.

What if you canceled 1 order of $200 but delivered a bunch of $5 projects? Your order completion rate would be terrible either way. Cancelations hurt, and Fiverr does it so we don't have too many order cancelations.

I believe more bigger the budget, the more is responsibility. So person suppose to award/punish accordingly.

If you see from fiverr view, you have failed $200, and earned $5 at end...

No doubt time is money, but money is also a conversion of it.

    4 hours ago, vickieito said:

Fiverr's algorithms will always favor sellers who have and deliver more orders, even if their average selling prices are lower. Unfortunately, this puts a lot of pressure on low-volume sellers (I'm one of them). Even 1 order can make or break your seller stats, and it can take a long while to recover. This is why I choose to have higher prices and am really selective about who I work with (I reject most buyers coming into my inbox, and right now, I just keep my out-of-office on all the time).

Yes that's problem. I have to do same. But still one cancellation will enough to ruin such statistics(for 2 months!).

    2 hours ago, charlsmcfarlane said:

I understand what you mean, but I think that would be too inconsistent a metric. It would mean that someone could cancel 10 $5 orders and complete 1 $1000 order and still have a really good cancellation metric, which would then imply to customers that the person is reliable and completes most of their orders, even though that’s not true.

Look here, at end, you have given value of $1000 and loss of $5 * 10 = $50 ?

Benefit vs Loss matters, right ?

In terms of orders, December was the slowest month I’ve had on Fiverr ever.

Then, unfortunately, I had a cancellation. I’ve had very few cancellations, but this one came at the worst possible time.

My work has picked up loads — in fact January is now looking to be one of my best months ever.

However, this has flagged up a weird issue. Due to my low number of orders and the one cancellation, I have been fighting to keep my completed orders above 90% and avoid a level demotion.

However a lot of the orders I have right now are milestones orders. I completed several milestones and then realised these don’t have any bearing on the order completion metric.

This seems very strange. I am completing work, getting paid and getting fiverr paid but it doesn’t contribute to the levels system.

In a way, this incentivises prioritising non-milestone orders.

It would seem to make sense that the “completed orders” metric should really be completed orders/milestones. If not, someone could be completing hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of work and still get demoted for not completing orders.

    Thanks

I felt same in recent months, not sure about milestones, but single payment orders.

    Current order completion looks vulnerable.

Suppose a guy earns $400 in 2 orders. and cancel 1 order of $5. Then order completion be like %66 ? 😂

It can be abused. Suppose if we split $400 in $5 orders. Then completion rate be like 98%

I believe completion rate should based on amount of money earned.

and cancellation rate be amount of money cancelled
