Hello dear, maybe you didn't understand my point. I make/built email template by html (table tag) coding, that's why I posted my gig under the category 'Software Development'.
But on search result page Fiverr set short description for category 'Software Development' is 'Add features to your website with custom web application and extension.'  [*see inage in attachment]
So, a regular person must click on 'Email marketing' category, as he/she didn't need any website/web app. If he/she do that they can't see my gig anymore.
That's why I want to know should I switch my category for the gig?

go with software development, it supports html and email template category: https://www.fiverr.com/categories/programming-tech/software-development/email-template

other similar, but doesn't match: https://www.fiverr.com/categories/graphics-design/email-design

Difference in both is of html, one uses html, and other may be or not (can also use figma, photoshop etc)

Category relevant to skills, can market well.

About exposure, I fear new seller may not get, even if category switched. there's great competition.

if you are facing impressions issues, better search forum for tips

Recently I published my 'Html email template' gig under the category Programming & Tech > Software Development > Email Template which is suggested by Fiverr.

After that, I switched my browser to incognito mode and make search in Fiverr by writing 'html email template'.

On the search result page [result in attachment], I saw that, Fiverr asked me to choose a category between the two categories for better result and the categories are 'Software Developent' and 'Email marketing' where both categories contain a short description.

For 'Software Developent' category short description is 'Add features to your website with custom web applications and extensions' and for 'Email marketing' category short description is 'Avoid the junk folder with freelance email marketing services'.

After reading this, it is evident that a regular person will choose 'Email marketing'. As my gig is under 'Software Developent', so he/she won't see my gig in search result.
So, should I change the category of my gig? Please help.

    or

    - Email Marketing > Do you write email template in text format ? Example:

Hello! I'm new to Fiverr. I've been active for almost a week and haven't received any orders which is why I'm frequently optimising my profile. I wanted to know if offering source files in your gig affects the orders.

As a graphic designer, I've always been told never to share the source file as the client might take the design and give it to another designer to create similar content at a much lower rate. Can someone please let me know if they've lost customers after refusing the share the source file? What is the situation like on this platform?

    TIA

Most buyers aren't that technical, even they don't know what source files does.

In my case, I provide source, as backup, so maintenance continues. Only original author knows what they built. Others find difficulty while understanding someone's else work.

If buyer is satisfied, won't gonna waste time finding another. If isn't, buyer don't need source to cut off relations.

Every seller license their work differently. Some folks even charge for source files.

I suggest to ignore those rumors. Trust one, who work on fiverr themselves, not misguiding (subRviVe my chnnale) youtubers.

  5. telegram isn't just a messaging app

its part of darkweb and base for criminals

it provides freedom, but extra one, even to break any law a user like

after it allow deleting whole account completely (leaving no clue)

some extortionist even blackmailed companies like Nvidia and Microsoft on it, and no action taken by telegram as before

even weapons, drugs trade... and too much blackhat activity take place here

bet me, you won't see those accounts more than a week (if there were new)

    Hello Seniors,
My question is to the seniors who have been working for 4/5 years or more on Fiverr. I want to change & update my gig description by 60%. Because my service is updating day by day.

If I change the description, my gig will be lost rank forever? or it will happen for a little time?

    Please Leave your valuable commend.
    Thanks in Advanced

gig rank depends on previous 2-3 month of performance

see analytics and repeat business pages

changing description doesn't effect rank, just make sure it describes your service thoroughly

Can someone start on fiverr without any skill.

if yes Please suggest the ways

well, several random folks, with low or no skills, still earning...

you don't need to be engineer, doctor or someone with 2+ years of experience...

that's idea of fiverr, where no one is monitored for skills, no verification etc

take examples: "I will wish you happy birthday","I will chat you 2 hours","I will will be yours relationship coach"...

They don't seem to be look prepared. But they do have one skill: confidence

Fiverr don't take care about your skillets, experience etc

and won't mind taking commission from you, if you earn

If link is suspicious / irrelevant, don't open

Link can be of advertisement, phishing (real looking fake cloned website, when sign in, password hacked), ip logger (your info like geographical location, device info etc), malware...

Better have anti virus installed, if you are unsure which to open and which to not

Fiverr's high commission rate of 20% serves as a deterrent for freelancers, making them less inclined to work on the platform. In contrast, Upwork offers a more appealing commission rate of only 10%, which serves as an incentive for freelancers to choose Upwork over Fiverr. Another aspect that adds complexity to Fiverr is its unpredictable algorithm, making it difficult for freelancers to navigate the platform effectively. Additionally, Fiverr's matching system restricts freelancers from directly sending proposals to clients after a match is made, further limiting their control over the client acquisition process. Unfortunately, Fiverr's matching algorithm often produces irrelevant matches, making it challenging to find the perfect client-freelancer fit. Considering these factors, it becomes understandable why many freelancers are compelled to switch to Upwork, even though they may have initially preferred to work on Fiverr. The high commission and inefficient workflow on Fiverr act as discouraging factors for freelancers.

Initially I thought same. But some folks from upwork community changed my mind:
    - why don't earn from both ? whatever tax they charge is from what we earn (we won't gonna pay from our pockets either, remember that)

reason why fiverr charge % is high because they start from small $5 and related services, order based...

and upwork mostly focuses on hourly rate, remote jobs, longterm...

Want  to share this info, if it helps,

If that happens, you are dependent upon promotion, offcourse.

Fiverr remembers 2-3 months, and ranks accordingly.

While I normally get between 1200-1500 impressions, 2 months ago I suddenly dropped to 300 impressions. They didn't say why. At that time I got 5 stars from all customers and even got tips. So I didn't get bad reviews, even if I did they wouldn't have to put my gig on the last page. While on the last page for 2 months, I realized today that my gig is not in the search results.

You are level one seller, suppose to be level two while seeing no. of reviews

So issue looks with analytics. Note few cancellation and bad review (specially private) are enough to kick seller out of search.

Even losing level losses several thousands of impressions suddenly.

But as you mentioned, you have good orders currently, even those folks want to repeat...

Need to out deliver them and future orders and you will get its fruit after 60-90 days.

I have gig of minecraft animation. I have 120 5 stars and 1 bad rating. Currently the best selling gig is my gig (in the field of minecraft animation). I have an active $630 job right now. Before that, I made 3 more orders in a short time. I got 5 stars from them too and those friends are still requesting a job from me. But gigim was removed from searches due to poor performance. So when someone writes minecraft animation, the most selling gig will not appear. Does this make sense? What's going on with Fiverr lately?

when did you noticed impressions drop ? date/month

Where is info on this? This is the first time hearing this. I will gladly raise my prices. Lol

18 negative reviews out of 5,659 reviews in total!

the recent ones were clients trying to change scripts or get free services not included in the price and I don't do work for free. Fiverr refused to remove them.

Not just that, Raising prices will also prevent freebee buyers 😄

Can anyone please give me the right answer for this issue? It will be really helpful!

You are working on fiverr (a middleman), which insures safety against stealing.

Suppose if buyer cancelled order after getting work, you need to contact fiverr support.

If you done what buyer asked, fiverr will refund you from buyer.

Don't worry, these scams are old stories.

Fiverr took too many security measures, so no robber can stand now.

ask client to either try again

or contact relevant support if issue persists i.e fiverr customer support

How does one "perform better" if one is not getting sales?

if we don't get sales, fiverr consider we aren't performing or adding anything to fiverr's commission

thus will kick out of search

    fiverr system prefers one:

    - who earns a lot in short time (regardless of no. of orders)

    - with no ethic issue (cancellation, disputes etc)

Take example of fiverr choice, whose listed on top, they are top earners in category

and if someone is new, offcourse fiverr give them chances by impressions/briefs

but if gig isn't looking professional (specially one states expart, big shouts than their mouth...), buyer won't bother to contact (specially when having 0-10 sales)
even after, communication and ability to pick up buyer's need...

    after feedback (private/public)...

Private feedback is dangerous, as rarely folks attempt it, so only if one review is bad, whole score disturbs
so better if you suggest repeat buyers for private review

This will actually be counted LATE ... if you extend, you cannot submit your order (even if you've completed it) until the buyer accepts the extension request, or it'll be counted as late. IF the buyer accepts the extension request, then you can deliver and it won't be counted as late. However, if the buyer is still unresponsive and doesn't accept your delivery request (or you deliver before they accept the extension request), it will count as late. I usually cancel those orders through the help center before it goes into late status (CS can adjust your stats on canceled orders but not on late orders).

offcourse, need approval from buyer. to extend order

or it is nothing more than "extension request", and order won't be extended

thank you for clarifying, as i missed it

    Hey,

I need to know how the on-time delivery rating is affected in these scenarios:
Scenario 1 - My client was unresponsive and I extended the delivery date before submitting.
Scenario 2 - I submitted the work when my order status was "Late".
Scenario 3 - The order was in "Late" status and the client by himself marked my order completed.

    1. if extended and after submitted, FINE

    2. when order stated late and you deliver,  PENALITY

    3. you mean you deliver before due date ? but delivery accepted after passing as late ? FINE
