  1. Well that is concerning since I don’t even have the Ad feature yet. Guess I’m in for a rough time. I was not impressed with it. But maybe you have higher entry level gigs.
  2. I think it is related. Fiverr is promoting the sellers who are paying for the prime locations and if you are not promoting your gig gets pushed back behind the promoted ones. In your CS reply they says, “If you set up an ad, and you see your Gig in your Promoted Gigs view, it’s being promoted and shown on the prime locations in our search.” But I see nowhere that it says for how long it is featured. I tried out the feature and did not like it. Every order was for my minimum amount of $10. Plus, by the time I added the price for the clicks I was paying Fiverr 23 to 25% as their part for promoting the gig. To me, for such small orders, it was not worth the expense. I can see where it may be valuable if a seller has larger sales. Also, while I ran the promotion I did not get many orders other than my regular buyers. Once I stopped the promotion, after about a week I started to get new buyers again.
  3. I did not see any either when I tried the promotion feature.
  4. We had a big party 🎉 in your honor, but you missed it!
  5. You should fill out the W-9 as you were living in the US when you began your Fiverr business.
  6. @asaduzzamanweb. @gfxrana Are you a US citizen? I ask because the W-9 forum is only for US citizens so Fiverr can inform the US Government of their income.
  7. No, I am not. I did not expect to see an ad. I just thought Fiverr moved the gig up in the placement on the search pages. I noticed right away that there were some sellers on the top lines I had never seen there before and they had 8 to 14 orders, so I assume they were promoted. The one with 14 went OOO for a bit but now she is back.
  8. That would explain it. But if all of my regulars and I have had some for years, access my profile that way, I do not want to pay for those clicks and orders.
  9. This evening, I got this from Fiverr CS. Screen Shot 2020-09-08 at 7.32.11 PM1485×507 71.8 KBI cannot prove that what she says happened is what happened. But I find it odd that a buyer who came to my inbox three different times to ask for custom offers would have clicked on my promoted gig all three times.
  10. My understanding is the W-9 gets filled out by every US citizen. If you make over $20,000 Fiverr sends it on to the tax authorities.
  11. @donnovan86 I would not consider my gigs to be on the high end of my niche. They are more on the middle ground. Also, at first I was given 3 options of gigs to promote. Yesterday, they added two more I could promote. I use up my free 10 and quit, but after two of the orders closed more we’re taken from my balance. So I guess that answers @frank_d’s question.
  12. @kev250, come back and let us know if you get charged a promo fee if/when a buyer that found you through the promo returns to place another order. Thanks, With everyone sharing their experience we can soon figure out exactly how it works.
  13. Hmm, could imply that they got too many orders to work off? I’m not sure. I hardly get anything from promoting my gig for some reason. Since yesterday it got 36 impressions, no clicks. Why does it work so well in some categories and for others it doesn’t? Don’t even get me started on the most saturated categories only paying a fraction of what I have to pay. Maybe this category is bound to earn Fiverr less so they make up for it by charging the seller more. Which is kinda ridiculous. Yes, that seller had 15 orders and a shorter delivery time. I just checked on that seller. The seller is now are on page 8, but has 8 orders. I was just thinking that having a lot of orders is good, but if you have to pay Fiverr a higher % for every order they place later on, then maybe I do not like that. I also looked at the recent reviews of the seller. They mention the order being a bit late…
  14. That is what puzzled me too! I had completed 2 gigs before for this buyer. Plus, with everyone who pays for clicks being moved to the front of the search pages, I would think the others of us who do not are pushed back. I have noticed several buyers in my niche be in the first position or at least the first line for many days with many orders. Then one of them went OOO. (I suppose by clicking their gig to check out how many orders they have I am getting them charged for a click. :woman_facepalming:)
  15. @cutoutstudio Who are you thanking and for what are you thanking them?
  16. I will. Here is the note I sent to CS. The buyer ordered from me two times through my inbox and I made him custom offers on a gig I had not promoted. The third time he also came to me through my inbox and made a request for a gig I was promoting. When I made him an offer on that gig and he accepted it. Then when I went the dashboard, I noticed his order had a “promoted” sign on it. Screen Shot 2020-09-08 at 7.50.02 AM1381×533 110 KB
  17. I think it appeared after the order was closed out. My husband has his master’s degree in photography. It is nice to know some photographers are doing things the old way instead of only using photoshop.
  18. The bidding fee should only apply on clicks though which don’t necessarily all convert into orders. They shouldn’t apply to orders at all. Are you sure you didn’t have someone click on the ad the moment your returning buyer made a request? I know that’s difficult to say but I don’t think it’s how it’s supposed to work. The buyer returned 2 times after the initial gig. I doubt that was a" click on the ad the moment your returning buyer made a request." At any rate I have written to CS about it and I will find out if it is true that we are charged for each order after the first one.
  19. I stopped the promotion. I do not want to pay Fiverr more than the 20% fee I already do. Plus, now that I stopped promoting the gig, I seem to get less orders on that gig. However, I see where if you sell gigs with larger prices that it would be advantageous.
  20. I tried the gig promotion and I got the following results. Screen Shot 2020-09-07 at 6.26.01 PM2824×503 69.1 KBI did get 2 or 3 buyers that have returned to my inbox to ask for custom offers. However, Fiverr charged me the $.28 fee for each of those orders too. So, it appears that if you get a buyer through the promo, that you pay Fiverr the fee for every gig the buyer orders after that. All of the orders were ten dollar orders, which I usually would pay the standard 20% to Fiverr. However, I am now being charged the 20% plus the $.28 fee per order. That means I am paying 23% to Fiverr on a $10 order instead of only 20%. I even had one buyer order three ten dollar orders that cost me an additional $.84 total for the three orders, where if the buyer had placed one 30 order, I would have only paid .28. In summary, the promo is better if the buyer places larger orders and not smaller orders. Plus, expect to give Fiverr the price you bid on every order placed by a seller who found you through the promotion.
  21. Yes, there was “value” for you as a seller. The e-mail means that even though the buyer canceled the order, Fiverr is going to pay you for the work.
