Hello, I'm curious if there's any official info that the success score takes few years into consideration?
If that's the case, it will put us old sellers at a very huge disadvantage as I will be so difficult to recover from all those years that you thought you were doing good based on the old metrics, keeping them at 100%.
A new seller on the other hand can easily fix their score since they don't have 700+ orders for example

Official? Not that I'm aware of. They use broad terms like "performance over time" and "history of your gigs."

Most sellers who previously performed well tend to continue doing well under the new system.

One reason why some well-established sellers are more severely affected could be that they relied solely on public feedback and statistics to measure their own performance, rather than proactively maintaining excellent behind-the-scenes metrics.

Others and I have shared guides and discussions on the buyer satisfaction rate for years – a metric Fiverr long denied even existed.

Those private reviews could really impact you, and you wouldn't even know how or why.

The new system aims to address this by "increasing transparency", but Fiverr's version of transparency hasn't been very popular because it's anything but transparent and consists of vague, boilerplate GPT drivel.

It just gives you a vague sense of a few key metrics, but that’s about it.

What's really going on behind the scenes hasn't changed much, so sellers who were unknowingly struggling with the BSR while public stats looked good, will now feel the impact of this much more since more metrics are considered.

We've always had a "success score" of sorts. Initially, it was just public reviews, then we got the private ones, and we knew Fiverr was doing more behind the scenes – like measuring why and how revisions got handled, even flagging multiple accounts as "low quality" based on buyer input when they asked for revisions.

Even so, we  didn't know exactly what went into it. It's just more AI-driven than before, that's all.

I'm not exactly thrilled at the idea of using AI to "understand" a customer journey, especially when that AI can steamroll over you for one tiny mistake and ruin your career. And because it's AI, you can forget about any meaningful human oversight. Fiverr's AI fetish has spiralled completely out of control. I'm not against AI at all – I think it can be a wonderful tool – but that doesn't mean we should leave people's career, livelihood and journeys on Fiverr dependend on it.

And let's not forget, this gem of a system comes from the same geniuses who gave us with Neo, probably the worst AI chatbot I've had the misfortune to interact with.

If you're like me, you like to be up to date on the new features on Fiverr, then you have probably read through all the new features of the Success Score system. And maybe you are a little confused as well if you start poking into the details?

I've been keeping tabs on you (duh, we're competitors) and as someone who's been in the game for a decade, it's cool to see a fellow Norwegian climbing the ranks so quickly. I can't help but think you might have picked up a few tricks from me, and if that's the case, I take it as a high compliment. If not, you're just a cool dude. 😄

You're spot on about several issues.

I've had no problems with the new system personally, but I know many highly skilled sellers who've been demoted because AI has taken over.

Fiverr's obsession with AI seems more about wooing investors than improving our experience. We're the ones who end up dealing with the mess. And the way AI determines rankings is even worse than you'd think.

Yes, it considers factors like revisions, time extensions, refunds, feedback, support interactions, and keyword usage. Inside sources claim the process is "intuitive."

But considering these are the same folks who gave us Neo, their definition of "intuitive" is, at best, dubious.

The reality is, AI can glitch. AI makes errors. But no one at Fiverr seems to care because they're convinced AI can do no wrong.

The recent nonsense spouted by staff, the regurgitated GPT content, and webinars urging writers to pass off AI-generated work as their own original creations are all evidence of their love affair with AI.

I strongly believe buyer feedback should be the main criterion here, and it still is – to some extent. But from what I hear, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

How does the success score system actually make a score for you?
(yes, revisions, extentions, partial refunds or if you contact support, but we would like more details. Technical details.)

All the metrics mentioned earlier, along with additional factors such as your disputes, revision requests, both public and private reviews from the past few years, your interactions with buyers, and a variety of new metrics from reviews that include AI interpretations. That last bit is what'll get you.

And how does the AI really separate good disputes from bad disputes?

This is the information I have managed to gather, please share more information you know in this thread (or if you have questions)

By guessing. Just like it does when writing the next word.

I assume it should be okay for any forum member to post their disagreements about AI as long as it's done in an okay way and being careful how it's said - nothing against any forum rules etc.

It's easy to bend forum rules to fit your needs when you're in charge. Even the staff members are posting copypasta from GPT without citing the source or acknowledging it's AI-generated, so they clearly have no issue with breaking their own rules. I have little trust in  management's ability to apply the same standards to everyone. Mike, Emma, and I can be pretty snarky at times, I'll admit, but to my knowledge, they've never been banned for it until now. Yet just a few days after a staff member publicly "encourages" Emma to get in line with the AI rule of law on the forum, she gets banned. I don't believe for a second that it's just a coincidence.

  4. Be careful guys. If you don't agree with the AI gods, you'll get booted out of the forum. Emmaki and Newsmike both got bans for a week, and if you tell me it had nothing to do with their opposition against AI, you're already turned.

    There is no spoon.

    Hey there,

I created a gig. I was already at the last page and was able to publish it, but i wasńt quiete sure about everything now so I safed and left. After coming back, I realized it must be published because the gig was now under active gigs. I choosed eddit and wanted to change a few things but I am just able now to see the first page. I cant continue and work on other pages from the gig! Even after pausing I cant´t work on my gig anymore! What should I do?

    Jana

Try clearing your browser cache and then attempt to edit your gig again. You can modify your gig by navigating to My Business > Gigs from the main menu, and then clicking the arrow button next to the gig you want to edit, followed by Edit.

I paid £302 for an order. The seller has not only not delivered but I have also been notified that her account is no longer available, instead Fiverr is offering me alternatives. Is this a joke??? How do I get my money back, after she has done a runner. Is there any measure of accountability, on here? Can anybody help, please?

Ouch! I'm sorry you had to experience this. There could be any number of reasons why the seller is now gone, but rest assured, Fiverr will take care of this for you. I've seen this happen before.

Reach out to support by raising a ticket here and let them know about the situation. Since the seller is gone, the money should be refunded, and you'll be able to order from someone else.

Hi there, recently my gig, which was performing well, got denied. I noticed that after adding a video with music from someone else, my gig was denied. Can anyone clarify if using someone else's music/sound in a gig intro video can lead to gig denial?

Absolutely, it can. You need to hold the rights to use all the content in your gig, including images, videos, and music. If you don’t own the rights, you can’t use it. That doesn’t mean you can’t use music from other artists, but you do need the proper rights to do so. For example, the music in my gig videos is either purchased/licensed or used in productions where I have the appropriate permissions.

Additionally, I'd like to confirm if I can reuse the same gig description, pictures, title, and keywords from the denied gig if I decide to delete it, or if I need to use something different. Your suggestions and input from all will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You can, unless those elements were part of the reason your gig was denied initially. If they were copied from someone else, then the answer would be no.

  9. It sounds like you've been scammed by a website other than Fiverr. Fiverr does not work with Revolut, nor do they offer a chat for support (only tickets) and they don't use a QR code to verify as far as I know. They certainly don't ask for your credit card info. This sounds like a clear-cut phishing scam designed to make you believe it is Fiverr, when in fact, it's not.

Si tienes problemas para verificar tu número de teléfono, deberías abrir un ticket con el soporte técnico. Lamentablemente, aquí en el foro no podemos hacer mucho, ya que somos vendedores y compradores como tú.

If you're having trouble verifying your phone number, you should open a ticket with support. Unfortunately, we can't do much here on the forum, as we are sellers and buyers like you.

I will. I think pricing is the main reason why I am not TRS anyway. I will try to accumulate more reviews, ensure this one goes away and I will most likely double my price. It will be a bold move but I think you are right in the long run.

I don’t think doubling your rate is bold; I think it’s just smart business. In fact, more than doubling it would make sense, in my opinion. If you get 10 orders at $10 each and spend 6 hours writing, or one order at $100 and spend the same six hours on that single article, which one will turn out better? And you'll still get the same amount of money. 😁

In this particular case, I do agree. But the thing is you're talking about an exception here

No, I'm not. Just check out the platform. It's flooded with sellers who have no skills, no clue what they're doing, and think they look professional because they use GPT for everything. Hate to burst their bubble, but that’s not how it works.

    7 minutes ago, yassine_no said:

    I know a lot of people that are very good at their craft, they lack the fluency in English;

And do you really think they'll improve their English by having everything translated into GPT nonsense? Every industry has been transformed by tech solutions that reduce manual labor. But we’ve kept our brains sharp throughout all of it. Believing you can leave your brain in bed when you head to work because of GPT is just fooling yourself.

    7 minutes ago, yassine_no said:

GPT for them is a way to finetune their communication and make it more professional

Fine-tune? Do you have any idea how obvious it is to native/fluent English speakers?

    7 minutes ago, yassine_no said:

but I do think that it can help the not-so-good English speakers, that are really good at their craft, speak in a better and a more professional manner.

Perhaps if they used it to learn English, instead of faking it.

I just want to add to this:

I watched a Fiverr webinar yesterday where a "writer" was telling people to use GPT instead of writing themselves, and then sell that content to Fiverr buyers. And this was  a webinar hosted by Fiverr. If that's not fakery, I don't know what is.

  13. Maybe if I rephrase it...

The approach to supporting economically disadvantaged and underrepresented communities should emphasize sustainable empowerment rather than short-term aid, by focusing on providing education and skill development to foster self-sufficiency and enable long-term success, thereby strengthening entire communities.

Really? I thought it was banned longer ago, but I am British... (1999, according to Google).

But yeah, agreed about the future poison stuff - the skin is the largest organ in the body, and while it's waterproof (or resistant, if you prefer), it isn't everything-proof. The big deal at the moment seems to be microplastics though. Apparently there was a study not too long ago where researchers took blood samples (or something like that) out of a whole bunch of people including pregnant women with unborn babies. Anyway, upshot of it was everyone had microplastics, including the babies, who were getting their plastic via the placenta.

AFAIK nobody knows just how bad this really is, other than it's probably bad.

GPT said so, so it must be true.

I eat from my wooden cutting board. TikTok told me people on the carnivore diet has to eat from it, so I do. No plastics.

  15. @yassine_no Let me ask you what you think of this particular example:

A 19-year-old guy from Bangladesh dreams of starting his own business. He doesn't have any marketable skills, but he knows how to use ChatGPT, so he sets up a gig, using GPT to write the description, bio, gig image, and FAQ for him. His English is pretty basic, but with GPT, he doesn't feel the need to improve it.

After a couple of years, he's on the Fiverr forum, wondering why he isn't making any sales.

ChatGPT suggested he sell Amazon product descriptions, just like the 90,000 other Bangladeshians do, so that's what he did.

He's only got three reviews, no real success, speaks minimal English, and relies on GPT for everything.

    What’s the moral here?

He didn’t learn. How did you learn? How did any of us? Not with GPT. We taught ourselves because we had to. Just like our grandparents knew how to use a washboard, we learned what we needed to because we had no choice.

If you think you don't need to keep learning, you’ll not only stop growing—you'll end up like that 19-year-old, sitting around in two years, wondering why you're not successful yet.

I really don’t think we’re helping the poor, weak, and underprivileged by giving them a crutch and telling them, "Here you go, use this, and you never have to think for yourself again."

And I'm using Bangladesh purely as an example here, because I know several highly successful people from Bangladesh who did this the hard way and won. The GPT fakers club didn't.

But you've learned a fun makeup fact to share with the world!

Other fun makeup facts include early makeup killing women because of stuff like mercury in the ingredients. Then there's the Chinese tiny feet shoes. Makeup! Once you get past the boring industry full of gorgeous but boring people, there's a world pain, horror, and death lying in wait.

IIRC, Queen Elizabeth I died because of her makeup. Ah yes, here you go. I could have asked ChatGPT, but sometimes you just want a museum's snappy take on things:
    image.png.6350e081d2839ecccf421625400d4f61.png

And I'm sure we'll classify the stuff women use today as poison in another 31 years. It's less than 15 years since we banned asbestos in the EU, according to ChatGPT.

I've read a lot of your comments renting about the use of AI, I wonder why ?

Not everyone has your ability/fluency, I would advise you to become more understanding and gentle, a lot of people here are originated from modest/poor families, speaking more than a language is a privilege. Using AI can help these people address better their message 😉

I'm sure Emma (that's your name, right?) can explain this better than I can, but here's my take on why I think you're wrong.

When people who lack real skills pretend to have them, it's the blind leading the blind. You suggest we should be more understanding and gentle, but there used to be a general agreement not to let dishonesty, begging, and incompetence win. Many people here come from humble families – in fact, I know several of them who now own their own businesses without resorting to deception or relying on tools like GPT.

Using AI asa  crutch because you're talentless (I'm not saying you are) makes people lazy instead of encouraging them to think for themselves and carve out their own success.

We're just playing a game of monkey see, monkey do.

Ah yes, pyroclastic flows - that's what happened to Pompeii and also what preserved it perfectly for modern-day tourists. People do like to gawp when natural disasters happen. A few years ago, there was a massive fire near where I live in the middle of summer. An entire mountain was on fire and my village had a cinematic view of it (it did look very impressive). The tourists where all snapping pictures, eating at restaurants, drinking at bars, and gawping at the spectacle. The business owners were working and looking with increasing panic over the fire, and we were trying to figure out whether to stay or go (we were a more refined class of dumb people). The fire did get put out eventually (and the wind was in our favor), but I've never forgotten how unconcerned the tourists were, nor the heat of the fire from a good few kilometers away over the summer heat.

Your harmonic thingies are, according to ChatGPT, dangerous because unlike the regular shudder of an earthquake, these are smooth, rhythmic, and continuous, with a "musical quality". Anyway, scientists like to watch these because they mean a volcano is going to do bad things.

Between Fiverr's AI madness and ongoing inability to protect freelancers from bad buyers, other income sources are increasingly a better option. Motivation's a tough one though. I find taking a break for a few days and not doing anything work-y helps to bring it back. Recharges the batteries, puts time and distance between you and whatever the demotivating thing was.

Yes, I'm familiar with pyroclastic flows, those are scary as hell. I remember when we had the eruption here. Given that I own a newspaper in the islands, we had to send people over there to report on what was going on. It was a much less explosive eruption than the one in Indonesia, but still impressive.

It's a new, fresh review. Fiverr has a preference when it comes to highlighting bad reviews, so I am sure it will be the first Relevant review tomorrow or in a few days.

I just feel sad because I had a good number of weeks with new clients, then sales tanked and I was just getting back on the groove. And then this.. Well, I guess it sums up the Fiverr experience, things can go sideways at any moment.

I guess I need to try some extra income sources, because the only reason why I kept this low is because I had consistency. But with AI, things are way more inconsistent. So even the lower price doesn't help anymore.  Seeing such a review is the deathblow when it comes to motivation, at least for me. Knowing this will be highlighted for months, and that it comes an elegant private review to match.. that really kills all the motivation I have.

I'm sure you have your reasons, but for me, it was fear. I was worried about losing business. However, that didn’t happen when I doubled my rates the first time, or the second time.

Consistency is great, but charging too little attracts people who think they can push you around.

With AI, there’s even more reason to bump up your rates. The $10 price point is probably what customers who are also thinking about using AI for low-quality output are looking for, so you’re competing against AI, not professional writers.

Give yourself some credit and raise those rates. I think you won't regret it. But that's just my experience.

    ^ this.

Also: with 10 bucks a pop it's too easy to order. I can just place an order and leave you to it and all I'm risking is the price of a venti with a double pump of vanilla. I hardly ever have orders without the buyer contacting me first. It really helps.
