According to the Fiverr Terms of Service, UNLESS otherwise stated in the gig description, all rights transfer to the buyer as soon as the gig is completed.

And that is assuming that the work you bought from the seller is legal in the first place.

If the work you bought on Fiverr (art, music, logo, whatever) was really an ORIGINAL creation of the seller, then you are OK as a buyer. But if the seller actually included or adapted some content that originated elsewhere, (like a cartoon character, or a music beat, or a brand name or whatever…), then it does not matter what the gig seller says. It was not completely theirs to sell, so you may still be challenged on rights by the REAL owner(s).

As much as their are some very professional sellers on Fiverr, this is a good reason to only work with legitimate businesses, with experience in the country/locality that the buyer is operating in, for any job that requires legality.

No five dollar freelancer is going to put in the extensive and time-consuming research to ensure full adherence to the law.
