This is just an unsubstantiated assumption on the part of most sellers. Extensions don't hurt our success scores, there is no literal proof or confirmation of this. 

A few posts from Fiverr staff mention that extensions and customer satisfaction are interconnected, which is true. If a seller delays the work and seeks extension(s), then buyer might rate them poorly in public and private. But by and large, extensions don't hurt us directly.
