As far as I know you can do it. Only gig image change may will not affect your gig promotion.

Recently, I had to change all the images, and it didn't affect the promoted gig eligibility. However, it took one day to start performing again.

Changing your gig image won't affect your gig promotion. But it may take a few hours to start performing again.

No, it will not affect your gig promotion, Positive changes does't affect badly rather it increase promotions.
