Buyer can't open file, the file was downloaded to be a .jpg.gif instead of .jpg

I recently made a sale and the buyer is saying that the file was downloaded to be a .jpg.gif file instead of a regular file. I find this concerning for future gigs because I do not want this to happen again. Is there any help to be done?

I don't know what you mean by reguler files?

My buyer always get the exact files i sent. .gif, or .jpg or .pdf . ai.
