How to contact buyers?

I received my first buyer request from Fiverr today! It only took 9 months! I am actually excited, but concerned.
Unlike Upwork, I see that Fiverr has no way to speak with or conference a buyer? The service I offer is a bit complex and usually requires some sort of conference. Do you other users struggle with this, or do I just need to learn more about working this way? I understand Fiverr does not want us to go outside of the platform, but I find a chat box difficult to do business with.
I would appreciate any advice. Thanks All!

P.S. I hear about Fiverr Plus, and I will look into it. But, taking 9 months for my first buyer message, I’m not anxious to upgrade my account.

The current messaging system is all that’s currently available. If you’re in an active conversation, be sure to refresh often, and check the emails you get, as sometimes messages lag or are temporarily lost.
