It is illegitimate. However I think their need stems more from trying to at least make sure they’re working with an actual worker, rather than conducting business outside of Fiverr.
At this point, the buyer should just choose someone with glowing reviews and no late delivery history, and stop putting a show up. :man_shrugging:

I second that. Conducting business outside of Fiverr can be treacherous. Besides, the buyer had no reviews in his profile which made the whole thing more suspicious. I haven’t come across any buyer who would need acknowledgment before disclosing the topic.

Sounds very suspicious. They’re not allowed to ask for your personal contact information, and you can’t acknowledge that you’re going to work on something before you know the topic. What if it’s something you can’t write about? Or illegal? Or porn?

Exactly. The seller has every right to know all the required details before agreeing to work. They won’t even disclose the keywords unless I acknowledge that I will work. Moreover, asking for personal details made it more creepy.

Personal detail data is straight a violation of tos. Report that buyer’s message.
