The Great American Eclipse

We are gathering with family. In Texas it will cover less than 70% of the sun but if the cloudy skies let up we should be in for something neat. They ran out of glasses here weeks ago so we built a pinhole projector to look with. Exciting!

Darn, y’all could have come over here to GA to watch it! 😀

My mother made a comment that she wished we could have traveled but my Dad isn’t in great shape these days. We did set up the telescope and cardboard so we could watch the path and it worked really well, so that was neat. We got my father set up on a barstool high enough to see over the cardboard so he got to see it. It was neat. We went back inside after that and watched other cities who were in the path of totality. All in all it was well worth getting together to see it even though it was partial here. It got shady and a few degrees cooler, but not very dark. The best I could get from our “screen”:
