  1. Oh I love this topic! I have a whole notebook with quotes, but I'll select a few;

    "Most people do not listen with the intent to understand. Most people listen with the intent to reply." - Steven R. Covey

    "The more you know, the more you know you don't know." - Aristoteles

    "Some folks are wise and some are otherwise." - Tobias Smollett

    "The trouble with life isn't that there is no answer, it's that there are so many." - Ruth Benedict

    "Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I'm thankful that thorns have roses." - Alphonse Karr

    "Positivity is not just expecting the best to happen, but also accepting that whatever happens is for the best." - Ritu Ghatourey

    I included these quotes because I love their phrasing and they make you think. Sorry if I included more than I was allowed to! But I finally had an opportunity to share them haha and hopefully others will enjoy them too!

    P.s. Anyone who wants more quotes I'm more than happy to send you one each day in your forum inbox 😜

    If I am requiring something concerning an ongoing project, I don't want it to be shared.

    If I understand correctly you're a buyer instead of a seller, and you want the orders you place not to be shared by a seller who completes it for you?

    If you want to keep your order private, you can simply (not) select the box which pops up in the review stage that will allow this. How to precisely do this is better explained in the link below;

    How do I remove the work sample from my Live Portfolio?

    I hope this clarified things!

    P.s. I wanted to add that if your order is already being displayed, you can contact CS and ask for them to remove your work sample. I've done this a couple of times on behalf of a buyer and it works like a charm 🙂

  3.  It's the 'ok' for me 😂

    I know people will always want the most/best for the least amount of money possible. But clearly this guy knew he was reaching for something ridiculously impossible.

    What is your Fiverr pet peeve, Sabine?

    Hmmm....that's a good question! I have a few, but I'll sum up two if that's alright with you 😅

    1. Buyers (or potential ones) who send all their questions/thoughts line per line. Not only does the notification sound (and notifications on my phone) simply irk me, but it also doesn't improve the overview of information.
    2. Buyers who don't know what they want. This happens! And I don't mind at all figuring it out with my buyers together to discuss ideas. But what I mean is when they ask for something and you deliver, only for them to say 'can't you do it like this' or even worse 'no I wanted you to do it like this' even though you created it exactly as they requested.

    I'm sure I have other ones but these two came to mind when reading your question!

    I feel for a piece like this the double use of this word was by no means too much, perhaps simply necessary to emphasize the message of the entire poem 😜

    I urge you to please tag me whenever you choose to write another masterpiece like this! The exciting journey we're taking as readers about something so seemingly small  is something I didn't know I needed on my Sunday evening. So thank you too for putting this effort in, and making a little rant like this so enjoyable to read 😇

    DOES IT HAVE ANY IMPACT ON SELLER GIG/PROFILE? or it is only the information of demographics of the buyers.

    It doesn't affect your profile and, as you mentioned, simply provides some insight into demographics. If it did have any effect it would imply buyers from certain countries have more 'value', which would simply be ridiculous and unfair 😅

    my old account was banned for a trivial reason of sharing an email with my seller for urgent communication needs.

    Although in your opinion it might be trivial, that doesn't really matter tbh. You're using a platform and you're bound to abide by their rules.

    Just now, shaunf119 said:

    There is a difference between "having two accounts", and "using multiple accounts to buy or sell services on Fiverr"

    I believe there's no difference. Yes one of your accounts was permanently banned and therefore impossible for you to use, but as I stated above you still have 2 accounts.

    Please try to read my posts correctly, thank you.

    I think you have a certain idea in mind where you've been wronged, and you're looking for some sort of validation. Therefore our opinions highlighting why Fiverr has handled this correctly can be misunderstood as not reading your post correctly.

    I think it's best you contact CS to have them clarify things, even when they've already done so and they'll probably tell you (again) the things we're repeating here too.

    How could i be using multiple accounts if the other account was already banned permanently and not accessible?

    For starters and a simple fact; you had 2 accounts. Because one was permanently banned (and thus impossible to use), doesn't mean you don't still have 2 accounts. This is against Fiverr's ToS. Therefore, you can no longer use your current account.

    I hope this was a better explanation!

  9. My understanding is that once your account is permanently banned, you are permanently banned. This means that you cannot create a new account. Because you weren't able to follow the rules stated in Fiverr's Terms of Service for one account.

    Fiverr assumes you read the Terms and Conditions (something you agreed to reading as well). If you fail to do so and your account is banned as a result, you've basically ruined your chances to be allowed to work on Fiverr ever again.

    Are you doing this work on the side? Are you employed? Then the Belastingdienst will likely classify your revenue from Fiverr as 'resultaat uit overige werkzaamheden'. But even then you should be able to deduct most business-related costs (phone, computer, software subscriptions, Paypal fees, etc).

    I do this work on the side, and indeed filed my tax report for the category you mentioned. However, I didn't know about the last part! Even though you're not sure, it's worth looking into 😊

    6 hours ago, cc_animation said:

    Maybe there is a treshold for that if you're not classified as a full-time 'ondernemer', so always check with an accountant. I'm not a tax expert so don't take my advice for granted 🙂

    But your advice/insight is definitely much appreciated regardless, thank you!

    I deduct the conversion fees in my tax report as business costs (ie. the difference between withdrawal amount and actual received amount)

    This is very interesting, especially since we're from the same country. I assume you have a registered business? Although I'm technically a freelancer, I always thought what I do through Fiverr just simply makes me a person earning an extra buck on the side. That's why I don't think your method would apply to my case? 🤔

    But deducting the conversion fees definitely wouldn't make these steps I'm doing worth it. Could you maybe shed some light on how you're able to deduct it as such? I understand it might be too complicated with all the tax specific details (I'll definitely look into it myself), but perhaps you can provide me with some starter knowledge!

  12. Due to the nature of my service, I often work with clients who are only looking for a one time deal. However, whenever I feel someone could be needing more of my work in the future I mention something like; Thank you for choosing me for this project. If you ever need more work to be done in the future, you'll know where to find me. This last part I only mention if someone expressed they liked my work.

    But to be honest, I hardly ever mention the above line. Like @vickieitomentioned, buyers will order with you again if they want to (and when it's needed). I strongly advise you not to come across as begging (please give me more work). Just deliver the best quality and communicate well. Trust me that buyers will be happy to have found a trustworthy Seller who delivers great work, so when they need more projects to be fulfilled they'll think of you!

  13. Hi there! So according to Fiverr's Terms of Service the rules about age is the following;

    "If you are under 18 and at least 13 years of age, you are only permitted to use the Site through an account owned by a parent or legal guardian with their appropriate permission."

    So technically you'd have to own the account on Fiverr. However, if you already have a business on there I don't think that's very transparent towards potential buyers. For example, if he completes the orders you'll receive. Especially since your account (including a picture) is very focused on being personalized to you.

    Perhaps it's an option for you to create an extra email in order to set up a different account for him. I'd urge you to contact CS before doing so though, because you're also using the same IP address and that might set off Fiverr's alarm bells.

    You can contact them here: https://www.fiverr.com/support_tickets/

    Good luck and it's nice to see you're supporting your son's freelancing endeavors! I hope you'll guide him through it all well, since it can sometimes be quite a hassle dealing with it all😊

    That would be cool if you don't mind. I'm just genuinely curious of a real life scenario. And I think it would benefit other people who might just be lurking around and come by this thread 🙂

    I don't mind at all! I'd feel the same way that's why I suggested it 😊 I'll use last month of May as an example;

    The amount I withdrew from Fiverr was $464,67. If I withdrew it directly to PayPal it would've been 409,42 EUR. To check this I simply click the PayPal button and see the amount it converts to.

    Instead, I deposited it to Payoneer and the amount became $463,67 with the $1 fee being deducted. When I withdrew it from Wise it was $461,43, which makes the fee deducted from the 'Payoneer' amount $2,24.

    Taking conversion rates into account, the total that was deposited on my bank account was 429,43 EUR. This is 20 EUR more that if I directly deposited it into my PayPal account.

    For some who have a higher revenue, 20 EUR is peanuts and simple change which isn't worth the extra hassle. However in my mind I believe it's a real waste (and simply unfair haha) to lose 20 EUR that could've been circumvented with just a few extra mouse clicks!

    Then I'm glad I caught your thread 😄

    do you have that card that you have pay ~$30 for per year?

    I do not! So there's no fees for me to have a Payoneer account. The only fee they will charge me is if I'm inactive for 12 months (i.e. not making a transaction). Then they will charge a $30 fee.

    10 hours ago, theratypist said:

    And am I correct in assuming that the conversion (to your currency) only happens after Wise sends to your bank account? Like it really started as USD with Wise and it becomes EUR when it appears in your bank account

    You're absolutely correct! Both my Payoneer and Wise are in USD (as well as Fiverr). So once I hit the withdraw button on Wise, I see the USD amount and it will show the amount it's converted to in EUR (and what will land on my bank account).

    I also want to add regarding fees, Payoneer charges a fixed $1 and Wise has both a fixed and variable fee. This is based on the amount you're withdrawing and exchange rate. The Wise fees I've encountered varied between $2 and $3.80.

    If this all still sounds a bit too vague, I have no problem with giving a specific example of my latest withdrawal with exact numbers?

  16. About a week or two ago I also noticed a lack of new orders (and inquiries), but yesterday I received three orders. This isn't to boast, it's more to showcase how my business fluctuates. For me personally it always has been a bit random so it comes and goes.

    If for you this fluctuation wasn't always the case, the threads below might be helpful to edit your gig;

  17. I replied on that thread (as you probably read), but I'll reply again since this thread has better insightful responses!

    I use the Fiverr > Payoneer > Wise > Bank account method. I definitely understand why people don't adopt this keeping the hassle in mind. To reduce this hassle and keep track of it I withdraw the 1st of every month (regardless of the amount or the amount that's pending). Usually it's on my Payoneer the next work day, and on that same day it's on my Wise and bank account.

    For the last 5 months I took notes of what the amount would be if I directly deposited it on my PayPal compared to this method. Combined, the money I would've lost due to conversion/fees is around 113 EUR. For me that's a lot! 🤯

    I will add that the money I generally withdraw isn't at all comparable to what people make doing Fiverr fulltime or who have higher priced gig services.

    So in short (and in my opinion), this method doesn't really cost me a lot more time. It does take me more steps though, so it probably does feel as if it takes more time. And of course compared to just clicking one button and the withdrawing being completed it's more time consuming haha.

    It's also my understanding that Buyers aren't allowed to send revision requests without any guidelines and specifications. Technically, a Buyer would be at breach of this if they submitted a revision request this way.

    That definitely makes sense! I guess it's also dependent on how you communicate it. And your approach is pretty straightforward with clear terms. Thank you for clarifying further!

  19. I wonder if it just takes into account responses to first messages, or your responses to every single message you receive from buyers?

    The latter isn't relevant for your response rate, but might it be for this badge? I'm definitely not sure because how many back-and-forth loops of 'thank you, you're welcome, no problem, have a great day, you too' can a person handle....

    Maybe this is already explained somewhere and I just missed it though 😅

    I tried to set up the payoneer account by entering the "bank account" as whithdrawal method from fiverr, but in that case it's only a method operated by payoneer and it doesn't allow me to connect an account where to directly deduct in USD, but to connect an account with Iban and therefore to have an unfavorable conversion rate at the time of withdrawal.
    Do you know if this method is still valid as of today (June 2022) or if I'm doing something wrong in setting this method? I'm in Italy, so I need to find the best method for a USD EUR exchange starting from the Fiverr USD earnings

    I mentioned my method of withdrawing before on the forum but I can't retrieve it so I'll just explain it here again!

    I live in the Netherlands so I'm dealing with the conversion rates like you as well. I've adopted the same method as the OP. My Payoneer account is in USD and the same goes for my Wise account (formerly known as Transferwise). On my Wise account I've also set the currency to USD. On Wise however, I've linked my personal bank account. So when I withdraw my money from Wise, it converts into EUR and gets deposited on my own 'actual' bank account.

    It was quite a hassle for me to setup though but as the OP said, it was definitely worth it!

    Have you already set up a Wise account? Because Fiverr doesn't indeed allow countries outside of the US to directly deposit it into your personal bank account. Maybe that's why you haven't succeeded yet?

    Sorry! This got a little off topic. I don't know if this helps you in your decision on how to review the buyer, but maybe it can help you have less headaches when dealing with your clients. 😊

    No need to apologize, it makes a lot of sense and the way you explained it is very helpful! Although it all sounds so logical and deep down I do know this, I definitely 'forgot' people don't all have the same communication/working mindset 😅 A little update; he ended up accepting the order today after I provided my feedback (very much to my surprise), but didn't leave a review. For future cases (hopefully it will be zero though), I'll certainly keep your post in mind!

    I must say you are brave for endeavoring to make a gig about something as personal as poetry writing 🙂

    I highly suggest you set up a revision policy, put it in your FAQs and make sure your buyers are aware of it.

    I appreciate your kind words! Although bravery might be a bit too generous to describe it haha. But about including what constitutes a revision is a good idea!

    When the limits are not explicitly drawn, then these people knowingly or unknowingly will walk all over you.

    That's definitely true. I think the reason why I was a bit annoyed about this whole situation was even though it didn't hurt me in any way (the order was just sitting and waiting), it just felt a bit like my time wasn't being respected. There was no ill will, I guess it was indeed someone who just simply wasn't aware of those unspoken boundaries.

    I resubmit, make it fully clear in the new submission why I am resubmitting.

    I do have a question about this; ToS mentions how you cannot deliver work that's unfinished. Wouldn't an unrevised order sort of count as such? Even when the buyer didn't provide details for the Seller to complete, in the buyer's eyes the work is not yet fulfilled. I think an unresponsive buyer not providing any details definitely counts as enough reason to re-deliver, but how does Fiverr approach this?
