How to land a first gig as a freelancer

Hello folks!

Just wanted some tips on how I can land my first gig on fiverr? I have created this account about a month ago and haven't gotten any response yet from anyone. How do I search for people that are currently looking for designers? It would be extremely helpful if someone can answer these basic question. It would be highly appreciated. Thank you. I don't have any tips, but I'm wondering if you've checked your Buyer Requests and have you sent any out bids. That may be a good start...
