Dropbox collaboration: How safe is it and who can I add?

Hi, I am using Dropbox as the main file directory for my video game project, meaning that when I add someone to it they have full access to my game, and can change anything within it. I backup frequently on my own physical drive and regularly on online drives, but I am also worried about content being stolen. What were to happen if someone were to take my code and assets and try to publish it themselves?
