Buyer sent me a image and wanted the same image with some modifications

Hi,
I am a New seller in fiverr. I Create Illustrations for Clients. Today a client approached me and he wanted an illustration. But the problem was that He sent me a image of an illustration which was probably from someone’s website. he said that I should recreate the same illustration with some minor modifications. so i wanted to ask if it is right to do these kinds of work on fiverr?

It depends is the original illustration copyrighted and to what extent are the modifications?

If he wants minor modification that will result in the final image still looking the same as the original, and original is licensed then NO.

If he only wants you to use that as guide, style reference, moodboard sample, and if original illustration is not copyrighted then yes.
