Handling free initial consultation time?

I have a question about how to handle resolving a gig during the free initial consultation meeting so there shouldn’t be a charge.

I met with my first client on my first gig and we resolved his question during the free initial consultation meeting that I use to determine work scope and set schedules, etc. I don’t know how to modify the gig that required a dollar amount that I’d charge for the work. I didn’t realize how simple his questions were and how quickly we’d whip through them during the initial consultation.

I marked the gig as delivered, but it’s got the dollar amount due and I’m not sure what to do about that because he doesn’t owe me any money now.

Help?

You can’t create or deliver gigs that have no charge. It’s $5 minimum.
You could answer questions through messaging but then that wouldn’t be a gig.

You could cancel the order to return their money but then that would affect your completion rate and also Fiverr’s TOS says:

Sellers must fulfill their orders, and may not cancel orders on a regular basis or without cause. Cancelling orders will affect Sellers’ reputation and status.

In addition to what @uk1000 advised make sure to read the Terms of Service at the bottom of the Fiverr main page for the rules as to how Fiverr works.

Everything is explained there in great detail.
