Voice demo meaning

Hello,
i have a question, i sent a proposal for a data entry job then i got a message from the client asking me for a voice demo!! can you please explain what it means??

It sounds only relevant for voice over work or something like that. Tell him that the gig is only for data entry.

Unless he’s incorrectly assuming your translation gig is for spoken translation and talking about that which may be unlikely if he’s responded to your data entry offer. You could also check the original buyer request you sent the offer to in case there’s anything in there about it.
