  1. I'll just try to sort it out. It's a bad mechanic in my opinion. Just as bad as "Private Reviews".
  2. I've been doing what I do for more than 12 years and I'm pretty decent at it. You can pretty much know who is in the right when I tell him "Please tell me what's wrong with it, I'll be happy to make some adjustments free of charge" and he responds with "there's nothing you can do, it's shit, give me my money back". "It's shit" was also his opening line. Here's the work by the way, I did 2 versions (which he didn't pay for but I added one as an extra, just in case) If he asked nicely about canceling the order I would've happily done it and I also DID want to cancel the order and provide him with a refund, until I found out about this stupid feature that a lot of people would just make mental gymnastics to justify. TO SUM IT UP, here are my current options: Option 1- I agree to cancel and I get paid 0 for the work I did + I potentially get a bad review (potentially a bad private review also which will also hurt my account) Option 2- I don't cancel and I get paid, but the buyer is extra malicious and again leaves 2 bad reviews (1 public and 1 private) Option 3- I agree to cancel and I get paid 0 for the work I did and IF I'M LUCKY, the buyer won't bother. Do you see how this feature is a problem? I wouldn't have been worried if the buyer didn't call me "Bro" and my work "Shit", but when you're dealing with someone like that it becomes pretty obvious to you how they're wired.
  3. Woah, I just found that out and this feature is a DISASTER! Currently working with a really awful buyer. I made him a 30% discount, I worked for 3 days on the order, while being really queued. The moment I delivered the work he literally said "This is SHIT, give me my MONEY back" and opened a cancelation request. Like, he did it literally a second after I delivered. I was open to do a few revisions for free, as I always strive to close orders, but communication with him was essentially impossible, as he just insulted my work, opened like 10 cancelation requests, and just acted in bad faith. I opened a ticket with Customer Support to make sure my Order Completion Rate will stay intact if I cancel (as it's not up to me) but they told me that he can STILL LEAVE A REVIEW which broke my mind, literally. This feature puts even more stress on sellers and gives more blackmail room for malicious buyers (which was already a problem before). This user will leave me a bad review, no matter what I do. At least before this update, he was just going to scam me out of my time and my hard-earned money. But now, not only is he going to do that, but he is also going to hurt my profile with a bad public (And possibly, a bad private review). This is crazy. No wonder I lost my PRO badge, things are getting insane for us sellers 😂 Private Reviews + Reviews on Cancelled Orders will be the 2 things that kill us. I really love Fiverr, I do - it changed my life, but man, can they mess it up more than that? It was so perfect before, no wonder the stock keeps plummeting and went from 320$ to 20$. #bringtheoldfiverrback
  4. It's been like this for me for a year. I was a PRO verified seller and after a 4 Private reviews over an year with more than 400 sales I was demoted. After that my gig appears nowhere, even tho it was super high demand. I see other sellers that are not on the same skill level getting multiple orders, meanwhile my gigs do not appear anywhere. Fiverr has shadowbanned me and I went from making 4000$ per month to making 300$ per month and all of these are mostly clients that I bring from outside of the platform. At this point I am contemplating leaving. Why pay Fiverr 20% a cut? I was the best performer as a PRO seller, but since the demotion and the shadowban I am just paying Fiverr a commission from clients that I bring from the outside.
  5. Yep. That was the case with me and as explained before, I went from 3500$ per month to 35$ per month. I don't understand how Fiverr is not seeing how this hurts the platform and good sellers.
  6. Yep, imagine my shock when I went from a PRO verified seller that's making 3000-4000$ per month to making less than my FIRST month on Fiverr. All because of like 5 Private Reviews due to the average score, after 1500 successful orders, big percentage of returning clients and everyone always reaching back to me to express how happy they are with the delivery. I was getting tips way too often too. Then, with that system, the people that did bother to leave a private rating of course were the people that weren't happy with the order and went out of their way to leave a private review. These are the bad clients that didn't even bother to reach back and let me know what was wrong with their order, I usually always try to provide revisions and go out of my way to appease clients. The public review system was enough of an extortion method, the private rating is overkill and actually hurts people that overperform. Fiverr was the best freelance platform, but in my opinion they ruined it. I guess that's why Fiverr stocks went from 400$ to 20$. They made the design of the site worse, the design of the order page worse, overcomplicated and less intuitive for both sellers and buyers. They messed up their algo with the whole private review system as it's penalizing people who are overperforming with the way it's set up. Absolute disaster, hopefully, they read the forum and they can get some proper feedback and revert things to how they were before.
  7. Yeah, I got demoted from PRO due to the "private rating" silliness, even tho I was making the 80% of the sales within my category and I was the best seller. Been talking with my Customer Success Manager for months but my criticism of the system is always met with "that's how the platform works". First of all, it's annoying to be contacted again to leave a rating on something that you rated once. Second of all, you can have 6 private reviews total for 1000 orders, if 3 of them are negative than your overall private rating is considered bad, which is ridiculous. Third, people who leave private rating might be inclined towards a negative rating, which with the second point I brought up is a ridiculous mechanic And last of all, the wording of the Private Review is just awful, thank you for pointing it out @enunciator This is such a ridiculous metric and I'll be honest, it ruined my business completely. Before I was promoted to PRO I was making 1600-2500$ per month. After I got promoted to PRO I was making up to 4500-5000$ per month and I was the absolute best seller in my PRO category, 80% of the orders were going my way, I was outperforming like 20 other PRO gigs out of 30 within my category with my single gig but due to the "Private rating" mechanic I got demoted. Not only did I get demoted, but my profile was messed up. Since the demotion I've been making 100-200$ which is 3 times less than what I did on my first month as a completely new seller so this mechanic is just absurd. Another thing - the more orders you get, the more "private ratings" you can have. The other PRO gigs in my category had 1-2 total review for like a year, literally no one bought them. I was having that amount of reviews per day. When you take into account how the private rating works this just will punish high-performance sellers. I DON'T LIKE IT. I HATE IT. IT RUINED MY BUSINESS. TRUE STORY 😞
  8. Yep, I started here with some 5$ quick gigs to earn a quick buck. I made my name "worthforcheap", but then I expanded my skillset and decided to focus on things that I'm really good at so the services I offer change and what I offered here was pretty premium. I even became a "PRO" seller, so changing the username at least once per year would be pretty dope. A lot of users start here as buyers and then switch to selling without putting it much a thought and then their profile grows. A lot of users start offering different services that don't match their original/initial profile idea. Rebranding is big for every type of business and Fiverr should allow it, I'm sure that it will help tons of sellers flesh out their profiles even more. Once per year or two total username changes should be a valid option.
  9. Nope! You have access to the Pro Success Manager only for the first 8 weeks of the Pro onboarding program - they’re not available to you after that. I have a new Success Manager from the Seller Plus program and my first session with him is in a couple of days from now, but I think that CS should be able to solve everything by then (I hope). Thank you for your suggestion tho!
  10. Yep! What surprised me most was that CS pretty much told me that it’s my fault: "As a freelancer, you are your entire business so you’re also responsible for engaging with your buyers and convincing them to accept your work. This is why cancellations of this nature are supposed to affect your completion rate. The rate is meant to measure your effectiveness at completing orders so it makes sense that orders canceled due to a lack of an agreement to complete it are taken into account." My order completion rate going down due to this is absurd. I spent 4 days working on that order, I over-delivered, then I revised the work for free. Then when he decided that he wants something entirely different than what he initially requested I told him that we’ll need to upgrade the order but I offered a big discount for the upgrade (as a gesture of good will), then the user not only declined that but he insulted me with his ridiculous accusation. I guess CS expects me to work for free until ultimate satisfaction and I guess me deciding to charge more for having to do additional work (and start from zero) qualifies as “Not completing an order”. I exchanged around 5 messages with CS without any luck, but the last appointed agent was pretty helpful and he said that he will forward this to the right department so I hope that they’ll make the right decision. Damn, I’m so pissed 😆
  11. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had, so I have to rant about this. So… A buyer placed an order on my album cover gig. He attached in the requirements section 4 different side-by-side comic book covers and next to them NFL athletes drawn as the comic book characters FB_IMG_1619985474694.jpg2324×2000 1.27 MB This seemed like a pretty clear request to me. I figured that he wants me to do the same thing, so I told him that if he needs an illustration of the sort, he’ll need to provide a comic book cover and a reference picture of him or the person he wants me to illustrate as a comic book character and he immediately followed - he provided a photo of his face and a comic book cover of the Black Panther. The buyer didn’t purchase the background extra, but I still went and wasted a whole day on it as a bonus (To surprise him) and provide a great experience. So, long story short, I worked for 4 days on this order, I declined a few orders in order to complete it on time, I delivered exactly what he requested initially and I did a complex background free of charge… So, I delivered the order and the buyer requested a revision. He wanted me to “fix a bunch of things” as it looked a lot like the original picture (when initially that was his request) so I went ahead and I did the revisions (Free of charge again, wasted at least 4 hours on the revisions). I delivered the new version after fixing the things that he wanted me to fix, then he opened another revision request and he pretty much wanted a complete rework, because he wanted original work and didn’t want the cover art to be based on the comic book cover (WHAT?) then he attached some examples from my gig portfolio and he told me that he wanted work like the one from my examples. (Like, why didn’t you said so from the start?) He could’ve easily told me that from the get-go, but no - he didn’t. He wanted a comic book cover turned into an album cover. That’s literally all he requested and he attached 4 examples for that and that’s what I did, then when I did that he changed his mind and told me that he wants “original work”. I then calmly explained that I already spent a lot of time working on the current version, so there would be additional costs if I have to start from scratch. I told him that I will provide a 30-40% discount and here is when it all went downhill - He told me that all of this happened just so I could charge him more, which is ridiculous as I literally did what he initially requested, I even over-delivered and then he changed his mind, so that accusation was just insulting. I forwarded this to CS and asked them to cancel this as the user wanted something that was not in the scope of the original order, yet was not willing to pay for it. I told the buyer that he is wrong and that I opened a case with CS and that he will receive a full refund. I told him that his accusation was insulting, especially when I over-delivered just to appease his needs, to which he responded - “You are insulted? I am insulted and what you did was copyright infringement”. What I did? I did precisely what was asked. The audacity… He is the one who attached the side-by-side examples of comic book art turned to custom illustrations, that was his request, that is what I did. God. So yeah, long story short, I forwarded this to CS, I told them that what the buyer requested was not in the scope of the original order, I explained that he didn’t want to upgrade the offer and then they followed on my request and canceled the order. However, to my surprise, I was penalized - My order completion rate fell to 98% which is crazy and has never happened before in circumstances where the buyer wants work that is not in the scope of the order. So yeah, TL;DR: I worked for 4 days on an order and I strictly followed the request of the buyer, I even over-delivered (I completed a complex background free of charge). The buyer then changed his mind completely and requested a revision. I revised the work (Free of charge). Then he requested work from scratch and when I told him that we will need to upgrade the offer, he accused me of some crazy conspiracy and told me that I didn’t follow his request just so that I could charge him more afterward (Which is ridiculous as I followed his request with absolute precision). Not sure where the platform is advertising, but just the last month I’ve had some of my worst buyers. 90% of the worst buyers I’ve worked with are buyers that I worked with over the course of the last month (Been working on Fiverr for almost 3 years). Or maybe I’m just unlucky :man_shrugging:
  12. Awful feature. I absolutely hate it. It would’ve been a good idea to add a Yes/No rate feature option for the sellers that were eligible for it to see if they like it or not. I’m sure it would’ve been a big NO for most of us.
  13. Okay guys, so I’ve been testing the new “Promotion” feature this past week. The promotion didn’t start until I placed a bid equal to the recommended pay per click, so I didn’t get any traffic for a week, but once I updated my bid…I received 8 clicks for 2$! And the funny thing is that the original impressions on my gig went down by 100% which is crazy, as I’ve been getting the same results for the last 3 months. My experience: The promotion didn’t start until I placed a higher bid. For 2$ I got only 8 clicks and the original impressions on the same gig went down by 100% since I received the “Promote your gig” notification. My thoughts - Our original impressions are going down so that we can get traffic by “promoting” (aka paying) for the traffic of our own gigs (like the 20% commission isn’t high enough). My gig had the “Fiverr’s choice” badge and was always at the top of the first page, I’ve been constantly getting 200-300 clicks a week for the past 3-4 months, the past 7 days (since I started “promoting”) I got only 100 natural clicks, impressions are 100% less as well and I spent 2$ on 8 clicks via the “Promotion” panel. I’m a bit disappointed and I hope that this feature won’t stick. The only people who’ll lose from this are literary the best sellers that earned their spot on the first page by being hard workers offering a great quality service. My question - Can someone tell me why I should spent 10$ for 32 clicks? I was getting 300 natural clicks a week by being a good seller that provides a quality service, now my impressions and my clicks are 100% down, so that I can pay 10$ for 32 clicks  Also, how is this good for Fiverr? I received only 1 order on the “Fiverr’s choice” gig that I started promoting and the order I got wasn’t due to the promotion. I was getting x2 impressions and x2 clicks, with around 3-4 orders a week before the Promotion thing started so the platform lost approximately 100$ from the 20% cut and made 2$ from me promoting my gig. Good job, Fiverr!
  14. That’s exactly what I was talking about. I don’t think the sponsored gigs will receive an extra spot in the rankings but separetly somewhere. Not sure where but I don’t think they will touch the search results but rather put those gigs somewhere you can see them if you click on the respective category for example. Or on the main page, I don’t know. I hope you’re right and I do hope that they won’t interfere with the search results as that will be a disaster.
  15. I got the notification as well and I kind of hate this. My portrait gig has always been at the top of the first page, now I will have to pay to maintain that position. It would have been better if Fiverr advertised the gig in another way (outside of the platform). Messing with the gig placement is a recipe for disaster in my opinion. I hope I’m wrong.
  16. I’ve had repeat clients requesting custom offers just to tip me n show support. I don’t understand the “Why would anyone support anyone ever?” logic. If you enjoy the work of someone you should be able to support them. A button like this is convenient and will be a great addition, not sure why the idea is not received well when it’s pretty much everywhere. If this is implemented tipping will become easier in general, buyers can Tip sellers even after the “Tip time” has passed and some buyers can support sellers if they’re a fan of their work. This will only benefit the platform and it will definitely build a stronger community.
  17. Nope, that’s not the case. The tip system is a pain in the ass, lot of buyers probably can’t find it if they close the original pop-up/tip suggestion after accepting the delivery. You also have to have an order in the first place in order to tip and even if you an order has been completed you cannot tip if you wait a few days after it’s completion. The Tip/Support/Donate button is convenient and it will definitely result in more profit for the sellers and the platform as a whole. It is not enforced, buyers literally just have the option to support creative people and sellers that they appreciate and I’m sure that a lot of them will do so. I support 5+ people that I don’t know just because I enjoy their work/content, this can only benefit the platform.
  18. Why so? It is not enforced, everybody will be free to donate/tip/support sellers they like. I feel like this is a great option if you’re a fan of someone’s work and want to show some appreciation and support. A lot of different platforms are using it, the design I uploaded looks awful ofc (I did it on Paint 😅) but I still think that it’s a good idea, especially with the current situation in mind.
  19. Hello guys! I think that a Donation/Tip/Support button on the accounts of sellers and our creative community is a great idea and will definitely be beneficial for all of us. I’ve seen similar stuff done all over the Internet since the Coronavirus, here’s a screenshot I took yesterday while I was listening music on soundcloud: Here’s just a quick idea on how it can look like: 20200527_214809 (1).jpg444×502 77 KBI think that by this option buyers can Tip sellers even after the “Tip time” has passed, tipping will become easier and some buyers can support sellers if they are a fan of their work. This will only benefit the platform and it will definitely build a stronger community. Thoughts?
