It looks to me like they are using some kind of unified compression no matter what size or length. Me personally, I can create a FULL 1080 6000b 320k 75 second 50mb file using imedia & Hitfilm . With virtually no loss in audio or video. Once it 's uploaded, there is considerable loss. My old gigs from a year ago sound great.

As this seems to effect anyone creating a gig, delivering , and portfolio samples. This is a recent phenomenon that sellers noticed around June /July of this year. If you have uploaded an audio sample or video recently you may have noticed a drastic drop in the quality of the video, audio especially. At my estimation no matter what you upload the audio is compressed to about the equivalent of a bad MP3 file. That is unacceptable if you are a voice over artist. Conclusion If a perspective client first impression of your expected delivery quality is extremely diminished. This reflects very badly as a first impression. Most new clients listen to your gig Audio/Video, delivery, portfolio samples on their smartphone and Pc’s by streaming them. Only the final downloaded delivery is uncompressed. Spending $'s and time trying to produce a high quality content to attract clients - this is very unacceptable. Gigs older than 6 months are probably unaffected. Clients ARE assuming that is the final expected quality, resulting in notation now to clients delivery to download the audio files first before reviewing it. Example See below of a before and after file compression description (essentially audio/video bitrate is halved) Based on a 70sec full HD 50mb file. Attached also is a sound cloud clip with both versions before and after uploading file… @ 1:02 is where the Fiverr stream version starts. UPDATE It appears no matter what video example you upload to Fiverr this is the best you can expect. Also audio and deliveries, portfolio audio is also now pushed down to 22ktz audio sample rate. As and example 44ktz is DVD quality . I’ve had borderline racist/sexist requests in Voice Overs on other sites too. Of course I refuse to do them. You have to look at the context and history of the buyer. I think you were blocked because your request for footage should have been expanded on. In psychology it is well know that if you add the word “because” after asking a stranger for something you are more likely to get a more positive response and willingness to help. So I don’t think racism has anything to do with it. " I need stock footage of black people (because)…" . It’s more likely the seller thought you were being flippant or insensitive and therefore quite the opposite of what you perceived.

Think of Fiverr as the Disney movie Inside-Out This will give some good insight to how the algorithm works. Your gig island needs to be started up again. Or it could have landed up in the land of the forgotten gigs. Joy or Bing-Bong won’t save you though. Seriously though you can edit everything but the title and gallery and it does not have an immediate effect on your gig

Self doubt is something to contend with… I’ve been self employed before so I’m no stranger to doing the only thing I knew. But now I’m doing what I always wanted to do and the self doubt is something to overcome. A smart self aware person needs to measure if they are not being delusional in their confidence to become a freelancer. Are you in phycosis because you simply hated your 9-5?. Are you good at what you do and are exceptional at what you do? I’m new to freelancing however not new to seeking a better life. Im a citizen of two great countries and have a patent under my belt. Go for it ! And don’t let people put you down. Win or fail at least you gave it try.
