  1. One way of solving this issue could be asking the town hall where you reside, to provide you with the census

Or Fiverr could just get with the times and clarify things like some other freelance sites already do:

I guess what we really need is to hear from someone who has already verified their account or (finally) some official guidance.

    A little off-topic… sorry. 🙃

They don’t accept authors from the US? How very interesting!

  2. @hanshuber16 Thank you for your understanding and your help. I try to contact them again but it seems they do not read what I write…

I try to contact them again but it seems they do not read what I write…

Sometimes, it can take a couple rounds of back and forth with CS to make them understand your situation. Don’t give up. Although it might be a little hard to do (given your current situation), try not to let your emotions get the better of you. Always be polite and firm when interacting with CS. 🙂

  3. @hanshuber16 And @jhakz1234

I explained the whole story, You can see in screenshots… I’ve just resided to Turkey… Is it really against ToS!!!

    1

I see. So, the ID verification failed, and when you later contacted CS, they checked your profile and thought you’ve “misrepresented” your country/phone number.

In that case, I’d suggest that you try to reason with them. It doesn’t look like you’re at fault here. It seems to be a case of misunderstanding on CS’s part. Don’t give up. Try to reason with CS.

I wish you the best of luck! 🍀 Please keep us posted.

  4. Hello

I had created my account about 20 days ago and now I had about 10 reviews and $156 and 100% on time, All 5 star reviews and 100% on budget with 1 hour response time.I’m living in Turkey but my citizenship is Iranian so I give them my Turkish phone number as I’m living in Turkey , Now they banned me because my ID is Iranian and they say your Identity was fake.

As I read the ToS Being an Iranian or residing is not against ToS.But now the support say sorry your account is permanently suspended(I already explained them what happened but they only say sorry). I already said them I can give you proof, I can show you bills, I can give you my Address but they just suspended me because my citizenship is Iranian…

This is really not fair and I’m going to speak with my lawyer…

Do you think I can do anything else ?

(You can see Screenshots in posts below) In post 38 screenshot 10 you can see they said because you born in Iran you can’t use our service 😕

Now they banned me because my ID is Iranian and they say your Identity was fake.

Could you please elaborate a little more? Were you asked to undergo the Fiverr ID verification process (where you had to upload two photos: an ID photo and a photo of yourself)?

they say your Identity was fake.

Are you sure they used those exact words? Or was it just a generic message… something along the lines of… “I am sorry, but the ID verification failed”?

I think you haven’t explained the whole story

    I agree.

@m4hdyar Perhaps elaborating a little more and sticking to just the hard facts might help others understand what’s going on, and they might be able to offer better help?

  5. Maybe the zoom level of the Fiverr page on your web browser is not at 100%. This could be the reason why you’re unable to see the buyer requests option.

In order to reset the zoom level to the default value of 100%, please try the following shortcut:

    For Windows OS:
Ctrl + 0 (the number key zero)

    For Mac OS:
Cmd + 0 (the number key zero)

Once your zoom level is reset to 100%, you might now be able to see the option “More” at the top of the page. If you click on “More,” you will get a drop-down menu with “Buyer Requests” as one of the options.

  6. You need to activate the Additional words extra (see below), but there is a drawback: buyers will be able to enter any value in the field, regardless of the description of the package. Try and see what happens…

    extras

I have set my additional words extra such that once the customer’s required word count exceeds the word count of a package, it will be cheaper for the buyer to select the higher package than to select the lower package with the exceeded word count. That way, they don’t select the lower package with the faster delivery time and request for tons of work.

I have also set the delivery time of my cheapest gig package such that I have plenty of time even in case that happens. 5 days for base package (5k words) which, in fact, I can probably complete in 1 day - - 10 days for intermediate (25k words) - - 14 days for top package (50k words).

The way in which the extras are set (and priced) decides whether or not they (sellers) will frequently run into issues with their customers.

  7. Hi,

You need to add a gig extra for additional words. Once you do that, your customers will be able to select whatever word count they want.

All they need to do then is to enter the exact word count they require into the “Number of words” field and it will show them the price for that word count on each of your three packages.

There is always a default number shown in the number of words field. That’s just the base number of words that you offer for that particular package. If, however, you have set the gig extra correctly, your customers can just delete the default number from that field and enter their own word count and the price of your gig will change accordingly (according to what you’ve set in the gig extra).

  8. I expected today to be a lazy Sunday

I thought so too, now I have to verify. No, I am taking my Sunday off.

    I have an inquiry,

    1. Must the ID’s country of issue match the fiverr profile country? I travel quite a bit, and though I am back home, my profile country still shows a different country.
    2. From the time I got my IDs - PP, NI, DL - I have grown a beard - not very huge as I have been through Airports with no hiccups and have had several ID verifications that required taking a selfie and picture of my ID successfully.

I am just wondering, considering the horror stories around the platform.

    Thank you.

Must the ID’s country of issue match the fiverr profile country?

I am not 100% sure about this, but it shouldn’t matter, imo. The ID verification is just a facial ID scan.

    I have grown a beard

That shouldn’t matter at all (logically at least). Not unless you have undergone an extensive facial reconstruction surgery of some sort, too. I wouldn’t be surprised if it worked even then. 😉

  9. It’d be interesting if @cre8iveartwork had this at the start of each of their gig descriptions:

"I am aiming for 100% world dominance. So, if you are not from any of the following countries, ⬇️ piss off! Don’t even bother ordering from me.

Algeria, Libya, Bhutan, Albania, Cuba, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Western Sahara, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Mali, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Madagascar, Suriname."

    jk

  10. After having had a very intense/busy last week, I expected today to be a lazy Sunday — one of seclusion and contemplation. But — oh, no! Life would be too easy (too boring even) if everything went your way, am I right? 😉

As soon as I wake up, I usually check my mobile phone for notifications (I have ALL Fiverr notifications enabled, btw). Sometimes, I also open the Fiverr App just in case there is a notification hiding inside the App (sometimes, push notifications can be unreliable 😉 ). But, today, I didn’t see anything in the App either.

After making myself some breakfast, I opened Fiverr on my PC. I noticed the characteristic magenta/pink dot by the “Messages.” There were still no notifications on the Fiverr App, though. This struck me as strange. Anyway, when I checked the Fiverr notification on my PC, it was the dreaded “Verify your ID to continue on Fiverr” message. 😰 Yep, it appeared as a notification. So, please pay attention to those magenta/pink dots and the message that’s shown! 😉

Since there are hardly any posts (from people who have succeeded in their verification process) detailing the entire verification process, I thought I’d give a very detailed description of my experience. 😃 Okay, moving on…

When you click on that notification, it takes you to a page where there is a QR code (which directs you to the ID verification link) as well as an option to get the ID verification link (that the QR code directs you to) sent via e-mail. To be honest, I was under the impression that each seller received a unique link which would only work for that seller. However, it was just a generic link which took you to Fiverr’s ID verification page. This is the link that the QR code, as well as the email, directs you to:

    https:// www.fiverr. com/id_verification/info

[Note: Hyperlink has been removed. Please do not go to this web-address if you haven’t yet received a notification to verify your ID. I have only shared this info. so that you understand every step of the process.]

Once you go to that link on your smartphone, you will then be asked to enter your Fiverr login details. The verification process will start as soon as you are logged in.

You can access the above-mentioned link via your PC/tablet/laptop, too. However, I am not sure if accessing that link from such devices would ask you to switch to a smartphone to proceed with the verification process. Fiverr suggests you do the verification process on your smartphone, and that’s how I did mine.

The verification process consists of 2 stages:

    1. Take a photo of your passport/driver’s license/ID.

    2. Take a photo of yourself.

You have the option to either go to the camera App on your phone to take a current photo or to access your photos/files on your phone to upload a pre-existing file/photo from your phone. Before proceeding to the next step in the verification process, you can also retake the photos as many ever times as you want until you are satisfied with the quality of the photo.

Just like how someone had already mentioned in a previous thread, you can also upload a pre-existing/pre-scanned photo of your document by clicking on the icon that allows you to access the photos/files on your phone.

I believe the more clear, sharp, focused, and bright (without overexposure, of course) your photos are, the higher is your chance of success.

Therefore, I believe the easiest way to succeed in the verification process is by getting a professionally-made studio-quality photo of your ID and yourself and uploading it during your verification process (by clicking on the icon that allows you to access the photos/files on your phone).

You could also use a scanner to scan your documents, but I believe a professional-quality photo of your ID (taken in a bright environment with diffuse lighting) would have a much higher resolution/quality.

    Here’s what I personally did:

    1. Since I didn’t have a pre-scanned image of my ID that was of good enough quality, I decided to first take a photo of my ID before starting the verification process (I used a 16 Mp camera for this purpose). It is also possible to tab out of your browser to access the camera App on your phone even when you are already in the middle of the verification process on your mobile browser.

I stuck my ID onto the middle of a plain white paper (with double-sided tape). I then turned ALL the lights in my room on to ensure that the room was brightly lit and that the light was very diffuse. This was to ensure that there was no shadow projecting onto the ID while taking its photo. I rested the sheet of paper (with my ID) on a wall and then took a photo. Please make sure that the photo looks sharp and bright. I then uploaded the photo to my PC and edited it further for better brightness and image clarity. I then sent the edited image to my phone and started the verification process. In the first step, I clicked on the icon to access files on my phone and uploaded this edited image of my ID. Despite putting in all the effort to ensure that the edited photo was as bright as possible, the final uploaded image in step 1 looked dull/dark. But that didn’t seem to be an issue.

    1. Since I already had a studio-quality photo of myself taken when I had applied for my passport, I just uploaded that photo in the second step.

This is the end of the verification process. You will then get a message saying that Fiverr has received your photos and that they will inform you of the result.

Hardly 5 seconds after that, I got an email saying that I’d successfully verified my ID.

    image

    .

    .

    .

I also got a notification on Fiverr.

I would also like to mention that the ID that I’d uploaded was not an entirely English document. It had German, English, and French. So, I think Fiverr accepts non-English documents, too. 🙂

I did not see any information pertaining to the number of attempts I had available and the deadline for successful verification of ID prior to account suspension. Some users have claimed that you only have 15 days to verify your ID and that you only have 3 attempts. I am not sure if Fiverr has changed this in any way. Or maybe you’re shown that info. only after you fail in verifying your ID? I don’t know. :man_shrugging:

Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding the ID verification process. I’d be glad to help y’all out. 😺

@lanamahmoud89 I am sorry that it didn’t work out for you. Did you go through the entirety of the first post of this thread? I have given several suggestions on how to succeed in the verification process. Here are some excerpts from that post that might be of help to you:

  11. Why not scanned documents if they are perfectly clear?

y not scanned documents if they are perfectly clear?

It’s very hard for conventional document scanners to match the resolution and sharpness that DSLR cameras/modern smartphone cameras achieve. Scanned documents are usually grainier than photos captured with a good DSLR/smartphone camera; the chances of rejection are, therefore, higher (during the ID verification process).

If, however, you think the scanned documents that you have are of good enough quality to pass the ID verification process, you can choose to use them. 🙂

  12. May I ask what kind of phone you have

    iPhone 🙈

So, no need for a scanned copy of the ID?

No, I didn’t even have that option (probably because I used my phone to go through this process)

didn’t even have that option (probably because I used my phone to go through this process)

Yep, I think the option to access your phone’s Gallery during the verification process is only available in Android phones (which is what I used). 🙂

    There’s another thread ⬇️

Hey, Thanks for replying to my comment! So the QR code when I scan with my iPhone will take me to the page to select ID type but I can’t actually select any of them. Same thing happens with the link you sent, it takes me to the page where you can select your ID but I can’t actually select any of them. This is progress from the email link that just takes me to the button that says ‘verify id’ but doesn’t do anything. It’s just like nothing is linked for me to click on. Maybe it’s the type of …
Ok cool, I’ll try that later and update on here if successful! Thanks for your help slight_smile Dani Update - I have now verified my ID - at last! I had to use my partner’s android phone and it all went through fine! So just seems to be a problem with iPhone, might not be all makes but it wouldn’t work on iPhone for me, so if you’re reading this and having the same problem that might be why.

  13. Third page with “take a photo of your ID” and camera button that opens your camera,

So, no need for a scanned copy of the ID? Simply capture a photo of it using phone’s camera?

no need for a scanned copy of the ID?

No, there’s no need for a scanned copy. However, since, during the verification process (in addition to the camera App to take a live photo), you also have the option to open the gallery App (which gives you access to the photos on your phone) and upload a premade photo, you could opt for that, too.

The only reason I suggested using a premade photo in my original post was because users have reported (on the forum) greater success using this option. Several users have reported issues with using the live photo option (as it can sometimes lead to a dark/blurry image).

However, it is entirely up to you to chose whichever option you think will work best for you 🙂

I would also suggest that you do not use scanned documents at all as they usually tend to be of lower quality (resolution) in comparison to a photo taken with a good DSLR camera or smartphone camera.

  14. Hey, hanshuber16!

I have a question to you, please help me to provide your valuable opinion 🙏

I have set a Payoneer account in my Fiverr profile to withdraw and payment purpose that is some else (my relative). So should i use to verify my Fiverr account that person NID and picture? Or should I use my own NID and picture?

Note: I don’t have NID that time to open a Payoneer account.

So what should I do now? Please please let me know.

    Hi,

I am sorry, but I don’t use Payoneer. So, I have no idea how that works. You’re better off contacting Payoneer about that (imo).

    Good luck!

Edit: Sorry, I misunderstood your question when I wrote my initial ⤴️ reply.

I agree with @misscrystal. You are supposed to use your own info. for Fiverr ID verification. It is a violation of Fiverr’s ToS to misrepresent your identity.

    Take from the ToS:

Authentic Fiverr Profile - You may not create a false identity on Fiverr, misrepresent your identity, create a Fiverr profile for anyone other than yourself (a real person), or use or attempt to use another user’s account or information; Your profile information, including your description, skills, location, etc., while may be kept anonymous, must be accurate and complete and may not be misleading, illegal, offensive or otherwise harmful. Fiverr reserves the right to require users to go through a verification process in order to use the Site (whether by using ID, phone, camera, etc.).

  15. No not really, it’s just because I saw in another thread “13 hours ago” that the user’s account was restricted due to failure to verify and it turned to be that, that user has another account that was banned months ago.

that the user’s account was restricted due to failure to verify and it turned to be that, that user has another account that was banned months ago.

Okay. But, I don’t see how that would relate to my particular case as I’ve successfully completed the Fiverr ID verification. 🙂

    Probable.

  17. Once you get the notification to verify your ID, you will be directed to the link mentioned in the original post, and you will have to enter your Fiverr login details (in your case Facebook or google login)

I’m sorry, but this simply can’t be correct. If you use FB or Google to login to Fiverr, you login via a security token. Your Google or FB username or password is not the same as your Fiverr password and should not be treated as such.

If when Fiverr directs users to a login area, there is no button to click to login via FB or Google, users will not be able to enter their FB or Google details manually. In this case, can you confirm whether such buttons are present?

If not, FB & Google users may be exempt from ID checks (at least for the time being). Alternatively, it could be that someone has overlooked the need to add FB & Google support, in which case this should be reported to Fiverr asap.

I am sorry if it doesn’t align with your logic/reasoning, but this is what I experienced firsthand. I use a FB/google login to access Fiverr and this is what I logged in with even when I did my Fiverr ID verification.

Once I clicked on the link (mentioned in the original post), it took me to a login page which almost looked like Fiverr’s main login page:

    image.thumb.jpg.1b1c7d55c1a87edb17f3798d130e0600.jpg

If you notice, in addition to the regular username/pw option, there is an option to login via google/Facebook too. Once I selected the appropriate platform, I was directed to step 1 of the Fiverr ID verification process upon successful authentication of my login details.
