Hacker scheme part 2?

Myself and numerous other Sellers fell for the “crafty” hackers who pretended to be Fiverr CS and stole account information from us a few months back. They stole sign-in information from various social-media accounts, but they may need more than that to achieve their ultimate goal of stealing money.

That’s why I’m suspicious that there may be a second part to their scheme.

I have reason to believe they may be posing as Buyers in order to obtain that additional information. This is why it’s important to adhere to the TOS and not take ANY business offline for ANY reason, because to do so may give them the information they need. In my case that means refusing orders that require me to give out my street address for product demos, or using my Dropbox account for deliveries larger than what the Fiverr uploader can handle. Please note, it may be something different for your gig.

As someone who’s been the victim of a credit card hack, I can tell you from experience that an ounce of caution is worth a pound of cure.
