Skype like integrated messenger system

Since there’re all these issues with outside communication (which is necessary for some gigs as well as to increase delivery and communication speed) why not implement a messenger on this site. It can be activated ONLY for those gigs that get approval to use it.

They could easily drop in on random calls, but if that’s a privacy issue I did mention it’s only for those gigs that area approved to use video chat.

It would be so amazing for an instant messaging system, if only text based. It would be really neat to know if the customer were online at the moment.

I don’t think that’s something that could be implemented without a lot of problems. Even if a particular gig was approved for it (because they had a gig that needed that type of conversation) how would that work on the buyer’s end? They would need to automatically be approved to have that feature, and since every seller is also a potential buyer, that would mean that everyone would have that function, even if it wasn’t “active”.



Seeing as how the regular messages and conversations in the gigs works fine enough (although I can well imagine that for some gigs it can be frustrating) I don’t think it’s something that CS would implement, nor do I think it’s something they should spend time on developing.
