Who's responsible for the decision to make tiny green and red lines?

Please put an arrow or something next to those fields, for those of us who don’t have perfect eyesight. Sometimes there’s no error message, and sometimes the error messages are wrong. Well, and please fix both of those too.

Has everybody forgotten about making sites friendly to everyone?
