And all the support team did when asked to fix it was throw up their hands in regret.

Keep trying, ask what kind of proof of your location would be required (for example Payoneer accepts anything with your name and actual address in it, i.e. bills, a lease or rent agreement, etc.)
You also might need a proof of having a bank account of your country of residence, because much of the issue comes from questionable legal status of banks and other payment methods in Russia at the moment.
It has become a tradition that you have to go through a round of quick to reply, but unhelpful support agents with copy paste replies, before you get escalated to someone who bothers to investigate and understand the issue you're having.

I would like to ask all those Russians who suddenly became against the war, for whom did you vote for the last 20 years, or at least on the latest amendments? Or did you not even go to the polls?

Although that information is supposed to be anonymous, I can tell you that I haven't skipped a single election since I turned 18 and in every single one of those I voted for ANYONE BUT Putin or his party. That includes every level of democratic procedures, not just presidential elections.
I also started participating in protests when I turned 18, that's almost 15 years ago now, and I remember the good old times when it was legal. The first protest I went to was against canceling election for mayor's position in my town. That protest didn't help, mayors are appointed, not selected since 2008 here.
When I was about 21 I joined an opposing political party. That was during the big opposition movement in 2011-2013. We were all very hopeful back then.
Now many of the leaders of those protests are dead, in prison or had to leave the country. That is also when they made it so peaceful protests now have to be pre-scheduled with the government.
Forgive me for not going into deail about more recent activity, because frankly I have legit reasons to be afraid for my freedom and safety. And I am afraid.

What I can tell you, is that anti-"special operation" views seem to correlate with knowing foreign languages, being self-employed, being in constant contact with people around the globe. So you can bet the majority of freelancers on Fiverr, U*work and other such services are not supporting our government.

But what of it? What now?
It's not like we'll be weeded out based on political views. Every single one of us has to become collateral damage.

I find a point about not supporting the economy via taxes reasonable, but not applicable. Only the ones who can afford to relocate will stop supporting Russian economy, I'd imagine this percentage is not very high (and cutting another source of their income only decreases the number).
Everyone else will have to find a job in Russia.
And for many of those it will also mean that their tax rates will rise from 6% (or even 0% if they didn't bother to get legal) to 13%, essentially meaning that they'll give even more money to the Russian army (or atleast just as much, if their income drops in half).

However I fully understand Fiverr's decision, don't hold any grudges and don't excpect them to go back on it, unless situation changes. They are a business and reputation comes first. Maybe I would have done the same in their shoes, who knows.
Companies that announced they want to stay in Russia to support local population are being bullied on social media and boycotted.
And I don't see any reasons for Fiverr, as a business, to shoot itself in the foot for us, especially since the Russian market is really tiny for them.
I appreciate them holding up for so long and being nice about it, as much as one can be in this situation anyway.

    Everything else is clear.

It just seems like most companies that already quit did not think through the technicalities yet (which is perfectly understandable), so details keep changing. To name one of the recent examples, KFC who announced they only stop investments, but don't quit, then a few hours later they announced they quit, then it turned out that they can't actually make that descision as a franchise, so they are now back to "no investments". Or Pepsi. Or Adobe.
So I'm just throwing a few concerns out there for Fiverr to consider.

I would also assume that the platform itself is not yet ready to function in accordance to this decision in technical regard. Atleast orders are still being placed several hours after this announcement. And there is no date mentioned, so I'd imagine the changes are supposed to be applied immediately.
I honestly don't know anymore, in any case nevermind my ramblings, the past two weeks have left me with no brain cells.

  4. Is the procedure clear as of yet? What will happen to pre-existing orders? Subs? Funds that are pending clearance? Should we finish existing orders? Will the accounts be removed from the platform?

Would you consider keeping the option of not withdrawing the funds? Because as of now many Russian sellers may be stuck without the means to do so. PayPal quit Russian market before Fiverr did, Payoneer's website was blocked in Russia long ago, so there might be a chunck of sellers who were not ready to rely on questionable legal payment method. Plus Payoneer works in Russia only via SWIFT transfers, meaning clients of some banks can't use it and adding a new account from a different bank might take a while.

I would also like to know about relocation. I am one of those permanently leaving the country, but legal procedures for my pets will take a few more weeks. What is one to do in this situation?

  5. This is a misconception, this function works for all completed orders, regardless of whether they were completed manually or automatically. It doesn’t matter if you have feedback or not, if you have the “Early payment” feature active, you will still be able to withdraw your money quickly. The thing is that this is only available to certain sellers, probably some kind of system that determines your work by rating and delivery speed. I had two orders canceled in December, and a few days ago I lost the “Early payment” button" 🤨

This is a misconception, this function works for all completed orders, regardless of whether they were completed manually or automatically.

That doesn’t seem to be a misconception. The only difference between the orders in this screenshot is that the $129 order was the only order automatically marked as complete. Below you can see an order for $103 from the same buyer, for the same service in the same price range which was “manually” accepted and it has the option.

Another similar order from the same buyer should get autocomplete in a couple of days, I’ll make sure to check if it have the option available.

  6. You are missing the point again.

You didn’t deliver when your buyer needed the delivery by.

They will not use your delivery, they did the report on their own.

That’s a really big miss on your end. Worrying about an automated message on your dashboard should be the least of your worries, as the one thing your buyer paid you for, never got done on time.

But OP claims that initial delivery was made within the deadline, then buyer did request some modifications and OP redelivered within a day. What shown on the screenshot is the second revision, not the first one.

Unless the first revision was caused by seller’s mistake, I wouldn’t interpret this as a missed deadline.

I’ve been sleeping for 3-4 hours for 1.5 weeks already, I don’t eat much, I don’t walk. Body tells me - stop, but the brain says - take all the orders! Taking more orders, I understand that this trains me to work faster and quality in order to increase my reputation. Only hard work will make me a professional and a TOP seller.

    Raise your prices right now!

Your work is great and you deserve to get paid more. Especially since the demand is high, your overall earnings won’t decrease in the long run. They might keep increasing. And your professional growth won’t suffer from getting some quality sleep.

buyers can still filter by “commercial rights” which means I have to include it as an extra if I want to show up in those filtered results.

There are options when someone is searching for the type of gig they want. We call these “filters”. There is a filter to choose those sellers who offer commercial rights as an option.

Yeah, I got that part, I just tried searching for my gig with commercial use included in the basic price and it worked. So it does work without including it as an extra 🙂
