  1. To be honest, 33 is almost nothing. If you are a beginner, you have to be ready for the fact that you won't get an order right away. Remember that the competition is extremely high, there are thousands of sellers on Fiverr who offer the same services. So improve your skills, professionalize, create a portfolio

Most of the existing sellers with quite good reviews and numbers of sales, have their earnings nose diving.

I, and people I know personally, have increased their income. As a guess, maybe you received some negative hidden reviews? Or have orders been canceled? I don't know exactly how Fiverr's algorithms work, but it could all affect the situation.

It sounds like that "buyer" wanted to con a better seller (you, in this case) into doing the work at a stupid-cheap price, so he could, perhaps, con HIS "buyer" into a price hike, at a much higher price, so that he could claim your work as his, and "earn" a profit for doing nothing.

Yes, that's quite likely. The funny thing about this is that some sellers are so desperate that they are willing to work even under these conditions

  4. Reminds me of my recent conversation with a "buyer". I quoted a price of $200, he said he didn't have that amount of money. He can pay 10 😁

And he told that he has an active order as a SELLER 😆 for this work, but he didn't have enough skills to do it, so he was looking for someone else to do it instead of him.  Maybe this is a similar situation, who knows

  5. Don't worry about it - many people who contact you and ask about your services and pricing, will never place an order. Don't bother them - according to my experience, buyers, who REALLY need your services, will place an order within 1 day.  Many buyers text to several sellers at once, just to check pricing, to find the best of the best so I guess they already placed an order and working with someone else - this is ok, that happens - just move forward, and don't forget to improve your skills

  6. When I joined Fiverr in 2018, it was exactly the reason why there was an unfortunate experience when I worked hard and didn't get my payment. I paid for the lesson then. Never start working until the order is started

  7. Cons: 1) no clear schedule, and I personally often work until late at night, and sometimes until morning. 2) I also agree about vacation and sick pay

Pros: Now I am in Ukraine, where the situation is quite bad, and I completely overestimated the very model of freelance work. In a country where there is a war, I still HAVE a job and have income. That is, I can work in any situation. If there is internet, I will work and earn an income. There is nothing more valuable than this.

I want to support Ukrainian sellers on Fiverr. Is there a way to search for Ukrainians on here? And how would one verify that they're a real person from Ukraine and not someone taking advantage of the situation? Thank you. Slava Ukraini!

It's a great question - right now I see many people who is not from Ukraine, but trying to pretend they are in Ukraine now to get some benefits and I'm not even sure there is a way to be 100% sure, even if you ask some questions about Ukraine.

Last week was a funny situation when a guy on another platform texted me (his name wasn't Ukrainian, but somehow his location was Ukraine) and he started to text about his terrible life, that he is in the air-raid shelter now, asking for help, for some money because there is no food and water in his city. I asked him in which city he is situated now (I think he Googled and found a name of one of big cities that he saw) and accidentally he told that he is in the city where I am right now, and I know for sure, that everything he texted about is a total lie 😕

Very sad, that people who REALLY need help, they are usually shy and will not ask for help, ir just have no chance to ask for help, but there are also people who is desperate to get some benefits as much, that they ready to lie

  9. This is really great - I am from Ukraine, currently staying in Ukraine, and I can say that Many people have their main off-line job and Fiverr, and due to the current situation, Fiverr is the only source of income for many of us. So thank you Fiverr for everything you do - now it is more important than ever before! 🙏

This was the case for me as well. People do tend to spend more in holiday season, but your earnings in said season also depend on the service one offers.

Yes - exactly, it all depends in the service. Also, unfortunately there are many "fake sellers" (I call them this way) who offer "everything" and profiles of really great professionals just can't be found among all of them.

The brightest example was when a guy texted me - he needed to translate a book ASAP (I mean, come on, it's a book - it takes time, efforts) and he was ready to pay really funny money. When I opened his profile, he was a seller too, who offered "Manual high quality translation to all languages". I think it's clear what was going on - someone texted him, and he hysterically started looking for someone who would do the job for the minimum amount of money

  11. I would recommend:

    1) Go to youtube - it's free, there are many really great materials - you can improve your listening skills, speaking skills, you can find there many high quality lessons

    2) Read books - seriously! READ BOOKS! It will not only help you to improve your grammar skills, but also conversational speech, a lot of new words and new interesting turns of phrase will appear in the vocabulary. Speech will become more intelligent and will become richer

    3) Open different websites like New York times, Financial times (or find something that you would like to read about) - it helps to learn modern conversational language

  12. For me December and January was the best months ever since I started to work here.

But in fact - too many sellers register on Fiverr every single day. Of course, a lot of buyers register here as well and personally I don't worry about too many new sellers, but perhaps your field is overloaded with sellers and offers, and it's time to learn something new and try out a new field

  13. Basically, Fiverr takes 20% of your income.

Let's look at it another way. You pay taxes on ALL of your income, including the income you didn't expect to receive. In the same way, Fiverr takes 20% of all income. And that's fair, and Fiverr warns you about it - you agreed to the rules of the website when you signed up

By the way, other platforms takes much more from sellers, so thanks to Fiverr for the good cooperation conditions

Well, as a writer you can easily use a VPN, advertise from the US and thus ask for a lot more money without even being a native user or having the experience you mention. Generally, US writers charge a whole lot more due to being native. It depends on the category of course, but in the case of writing using a VPN is a serious problem and it can lead to a ban.

Charge - do you mean Fiverr fee?

  15. It's NOT risky - it's ok. I use VPN sometimes, and also very often I really change location because I travel a lot. And it does not affect the statistics in any way

Yes. Its risky for your account.
Because of fiverr can track us. while you will use VPN then your IP will automatically changed. Then it will be tracked by fiverr. and its against fiverrs rules & conditions.

What is against rules? Changing location? Seriously? It doesn't matter where are you when you open Fiverr, and VPN doesn't affect it

  16. Honestly, I don't think that you did it - most of your gigs starts from 5-10 dollars and the number of finished orders is not that huge. Please don't get me wrong - such inspirational stories are much needed, they are the best motivation, but at the very least without a screenshot, they are just empty words
