Question
mariahsyree
Hey. So I have been writing a script for a manga and have found and been working with an artist to do the pages/panels. With the intention of releasing this as an ebook, and promoting it with the characters concept art among other things on social media.
I have commercial rights of the characters concept art and cover work. But now I'm wandering if commercial rights would even be enough? I of course planned to give the artist their due credit on the copyright page but is that enough legally to protect me if anything were to happen?
And yes the artist is aware of the game plan here. I just wanna cross all my Ts and dot all my Is, and the intellectual property firms I've reached out to today have told me they can't offer me legal advice at this time. So reaching out here in hopes someone has an answer.
