Altering Delivered Book Cover Design

Hey guys, I recently purchased and accepted a wonderful book design by an artist on the site. I purchased the source file. I have (limited) skill in photoshop. Can I edit the source file (minor color tweaks, etc.) before publishing the book? I am thinking in regards to copyright/artist credit. Basically asking, is the art now mine or do I need to honor the agreement and not alter the content of the art before publishing? Thanks.

You need to ask your seller, not strangers on the internet. 

You could also ask your seller what they'd charge for some alterations. (Just try to have all the changes you'd want to make compiled first, so they have the proper scope to give you an accurate quote.)
