Hi Fiverr Community,
I wanted to share my Fiverr journey and what I learned after restarting my account. Hopefully, this helps others who are in a similar situation.
I originally joined Fiverr in October 2021 and was super excited to get started. Unfortunately, before I could land my first order, I had to put my account on vacation mode because I moved abroad for a job. Fast forward to November 2024, after completing my contract, I returned home and decided to give Fiverr another shot using the same account.
Here’s how it went and what I learned:
1. Reactivating and Optimizing My Account
Once I turned my account back to active, I realized my gigs needed a refresh. I updated:
Gig titles with trending keywords.
Descriptions to better explain my services.
Tags to improve visibility.
Thumbnails to make them more eye-catching.
Takeaway: Optimization is key—even if you’ve been inactive, polishing your gigs can significantly improve your chances of getting noticed.
2. Patience and Consistency Paid Off
It took one month after reactivating my account to get my first order. Soon after, I received two more, including one from a repeat buyer. The first order gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward.
Takeaway: Be patient but proactive. Don’t get discouraged if orders don’t come immediately. Keep improving your gigs, stay online, and promote your services.
3. Value Every Client Interaction
Getting my first order was exciting, but building trust with my buyers was even more important. Delivering on time and providing high-quality work led to my first repeat buyer.
Takeaway: Focus on quality and communication. Happy clients are more likely to return and refer you to others.
Final Thoughts
Restarting on Fiverr was a learning curve, but it showed me that persistence and strategic updates can make a huge difference. If you’re just starting or coming back after a break, don’t lose hope. Optimize your gigs, stay consistent, and your efforts will eventually pay off.
I’d love to hear from others—how did you get your first order, and what strategies worked best for you? Let’s share and grow together!
