  1. So I had shared my story sometime back about a mean buyer who appreciated my work so much and called me the most professional person online, yet when it was time to leave a review he gave me a 4.7. I was so mad. I never wanted to work with him again but I didn't tell him that and I never ask for stars. I believe my beautiful work is perfect for a 5

I shared my story here and people commented, advised me and told me that 4.7 is not bad, also maybe I needed to improve somewhere, and I was advised to work with him to have a repeat buyer. That he wasn't being mean, I just needed to improve.

I listened, after a day the mean buyer ordered again with a good amount of money. I treated him well, communicated perfectly, gave him updates here and there and then I delivered his project. It took him a day without completing it. I thought I had made a mistake somewhere, waking up the next morning he had left a 5star and I was so happy and he was also very happy with my work promising to employ me in the near future.

I have learnt two things from this, that never give up and also there is room to improvement.

Don't just work on a project for the sake of getting money, give it your all, imagine it is you ordering and the seller wants to give you some fake service. Lets all be true to ourselves.

  2. Hello,

My story is kind of long but please read and give me some advice.

So I got an order a day ago, at 3 in morning somehow I woke up to find a buyer had placed an order, just after 3minutes I replied to him. And for me when some one places an order, I always thank them first before even looking thoroughly on the project. After thanking him I looked through his project and we agreed on how he wanted it, by me giving him an example of how I would handle it.

And then he praised me, and said "Oh wow, I have chosen the right professional", Remember it was 3am in the morning, after like agreeing on how to handle the project, i told him that I will get to it when morning comes. I went back to sleep. So my policy is when am half way the project I always let the buyer know, how far I have come, or if there are any challenges. I did so in the middle of the day, but his last seen was the time we finished talking, my time zone 3am, so he didn't reply back.

My other policy is that I deliver a project like 5hours before the delivery time, this is the first project I have delivered late only 3hours before the delivery time. And for me that is late. So I went to sleep, somehow I woke up again in the night and I found that he had accepted my delivery and left a rating of 4.7 overall because the communication was bad he gave me a rating of 4, like am asking myself why? When he wasn't online for like 23hrs, so how was I supposed to communicate with him?

He left a review message as "This experience was seamless. I'll be back with another project soon!". He liked what I delivered but why a 4 rating on communication, so I need some advice on this, Should I accept another project from such a mean buyer in future? Because I communicate perfect, deliver before time and do exactly what am supposed to do on a project so that I keep my rating up. What should I do?

The "people" who make this kind of advice are not successful sellers, and they are sellers who parrot some YouTube fake guru's advice.

I have never shared my gigs on social media.

Many top sellers try to explain to new Forum users what worked for them on Fiverr, but the advice seems to fall on deaf ears. Therefore, many have stopped giving any advice.

A seller's success on Fiverr is more about the quality of their gigs and their services. For example, there are 50,105 new seller gigs for data entry on Fiverr. Besides those gigs, about 6000 level one and level two sellers provide data entry. Those 56,000 gigs are your competition. What are you doing to stand out from them?

I would suggest you first of all change your gig images. They need to be something that will attract the buyer's eye. Buyers zip through the search pages, and you have seconds to catch their attention.

Most sellers will not bother to read the gig description below your image. Therefore, your photo needs to sell your services, and that image should contain only 4 to 5 words describing your service. Besides that, it should be attractive. None of your gig images meet these criteria.

Look at this seller's image, for example. ⬇️

Another vital part of your profile is your gig description, which must be well written. For example, you offer proofreading services, yet there are a few errors in your that gig description.

I only read two of your gig descriptions, but I noticed that you have two different names in them. In one, you say your name is Petiti, and in one, you say you are Marie. Oh, I just noticed your username is mariepetiti. It may be good to be consistent about what buyers can call you.

Thank you so much for the advice

  4. Today am going to introduce this one tip that people so much talk about to be a successful seller on fiverr.

And that is be online all the time

Well me I have access to computer and internet all day long and night,so I be online allll the time.

I have been on fiverr for over 6months but with me being online all time, I have only got 2 orders.

Now am wondering what people be talking about that always be online, I don't know why it's not working for me.

Advertise on social media, which social media? Because I do that daily and still no orders, before you tell me to find targeted groups yes I promise you I did on Facebook but then people on Facebook are only interested in saving each other's gig. So which targeted groups?

You get impressions from Twitter but no orders, how does one find targeted groups on Twitter? By using hashtags!! Nope, that isn't working.

So finally being online all the time and sharing gigs on social media isn't working,  what do top sellers don't tell us about being successful on fiverr? We are missing some major points here.

My name is Marie Petiti. I do translations from English to swahili and luganda, transcribing audios and videos, converting pdf to word, excel data entry and bookediting.

    What am I doing wrong?

  5. I actually joined in 2021 and I have never introduced myself but I have just started getting serious about this in 2022.

I have gotten 2 orders so far and it's actually irritating that I had to wait a whole month before getting my 2nd order. I feel like it will be the same with my 3rd.

But am glad to be on fiverr.

I offer translation services, English to swahili and luganda,  converting pdfs to excel and Word, transcribing English and swahili videos and audios

    Nice meet you’ll
