  1. Unfortunately you won’t be able to withdraw that money, but you will be able to use it towards other purchases on Fiverr. If you didn’t read the Terms of Service before purchasing a gig, it says: “Fiverr does not refund payments made for cancelled orders back to your payment provider automatically. Funds from order cancellations are refunded to the buyer’s balance as credit and are available for future purchases on Fiverr. Funds returned to your balance from cancelled orders will not include processing fees paid.” Here’s a link to the Terms of Service: https://www.fiverr.com/terms_of_service
  2. Periodically I do a quick Google search and find people who have copied my descriptions. I just submit a ticket to Customer Support reporting them. I provide a link to my gig and to the copycat gigs. Because of their privacy policy, Customer Support won’t be able to tell you what happened, but it seems to me that the copycat gigs seem to disappear (or at least their descriptions do). In the end, your gig is being copied because it’s impressive and successful. Someone else with the same description is unlikely to have a huge impact on you. Personally though, I find it really dishonest and frustrating for people to copy me. I also feel that it’s misleading for customers, so I like to report the copiers.

  4. Try logging out of your account and then logging back in. That worked for me when I moved.
  5. Coming from a seller’s perspective, I think that a lot of these are good tips, but I disagree with #2: Confirm information in the gig - about what you will get even if it’s listed. A quick message confirming that the seller is available for your order is fine, but asking questions that repeat everything in the gig description will just waste time. I’ve personally spent a lot of time writing my gig description, and I find it a bit frustrating when buyers clearly haven’t read it. I would recommend that all buyers take a look at what’s included in the description, including the delivery time, before contacting a seller. I do think messaging the seller ahead of time and describing the details of what you’re looking for (particularly if it’s a large order or more complicated than the basic gig) is a great idea. If a seller delivers something that doesn’t live up to the description, you have a very good reason for requesting a modification or cancelling the order to get a refund.
  6. These are all great signs to watch out for! Another one that I’ve noticed is when a buyer brings up the possibility of cancelling before placing the order. He or she will say something like “If it isn’t perfect, I’ll cancel the order” or “Can I get a refund if I don’t like it?” Of course, I’m sure there are a number of great buyers who just want to understand how the Fiverr process works and if a refund is possible. In my experience, however, most of these buyers are just trying to lay the groundwork for unfairly cancelling their order after you’ve completed it. If they’re thinking about cancelling before you’ve even started, they might be trying to scam you out of being paid.

  8. Hi everyone, I just had a buyer attempt to place an order, but she said she was unable to because she couldn’t process an American Express payment. She said she thought I needed to change my account to accept AmEx payments, but I couldn’t see anything about payment methods in my settings. I had always thought that Fiverr worked exclusively with PayPal. Has anyone run into this before? Is there actually something I need to change, or is something going wrong on the buyer’s end? Thanks!
